Nice scoot.
Rain here has me not washing the Jeeps OR riding the bike.
I need to install my new trail camera on the JK but I’m being lazy.
Just saw a soft top for sale on ebay for $400 or best offer. Guy lives in Orlando not far from me. Says it was around $1300 new. He says it's in excellent condition and had sold his jeep. Do you think it's worth looking at?

If you're looking for a factory soft top, $400 is a great price for one in better than OK condition.
Thanks for the input. I don't really know if I "need" one. I've only had my hard top off once, and it was difficult for me and my wife to take off (in our 60's). Typically we just take off the front roof panels, but it would be nice now and again to fold the whole thing down.
Actually the wife and I really like the Hooke roof rack. That runs just over $300. I would almost rather have that with front and rear work lights. Hmmm decisions decisions lol
What trail camera did you get? I keep thinking about getting, not sure if I ever will.

My wife is NOT a fan of any roof rack, but I am a fan of one for just the rear part, as we have the Sunrider top that we really don’t want to lose by having a full rack.
The Hooke Road version is my favorite so far. The angled shape matches the look of the bumpers I put on, so it ‘fits’ the look.

$400 seems like a great deal if in good shape . I hear you about wrestling with the decision . I really like the hard top personally . I’ve read different negativities regarding softs . Can get soaked threw in some instances , leaks , yellowed windows over time or rips .
Some put hard top back on in the winter . Than there’s the storage issue. Your in Florida I see so probably good year round .
I like the look and “security” of a hard top. It’s why I’ve never taken it off. During the summer not a fan of the sun beaming down on me for hours or filling Jeep with dust when off road if no top on .
It’s subjective . But as far as the price goes and if your into it for sure pull the trigger

@Dlcain find out if its the sunrider feature top. Because having the ability to flip just the front part back quickly is awesome. Perfect for someone who lives in FL. That feature is very easy to engage. Look it up on YouTube.
If all the hardware is there, which includes the door surrounds, that'll be a great deal. Go to Bestop's website and download the manual so you can make sure you have all the hardware, if you're going to see the top in person.

We've got this rear-only rack. We don't use it much, but it's sure nice when we need it. It's obviously a hard top only option, though, since it bolts through the top.

I got ahold of the seller yesterday and he had sold it a month ago and didn't take the ad off ebay grrr. So I went ahead and ordered the Hooke roof rack that mounts toward the back. I noticed that it doesn't have cutouts for rear work lights, but I figure I can make something work. The wife wants me to do some kind of back lighting on the 1941 cutout. Not sure about that lol
Soft top. Wait, wait what is this cocaine bear stuff I see on the news? We had roof rack rails on the TJ hardtop. That would likely not be needed with the rack I’ve been looking at for the JK though, as the rear mounts connect to the hinges and the front mounts attach to the drip rails over the back doors.
I’m against any rack over a soft top because of the framework.

Been researching the this intermittent wiper problem (they only work w/o delay), along w/ a sporadic door lock/unlock issue.
Both are symptoms of a failed/failing TIPM.
I reviewed the options of new, rebuilt, and/or sending mine in for rebuild… all of which are overpriced.
That made me keep digging for more information what the failure modes are and how they are repaired.
That’s when I found this photo:
Which clearly identifies the relay associated w/ the wiper speed and the door locks as being integral to one another.
I found the process of replacing the fuel pump relay and it doesn’t look all that complicated, so given my desire to not spend a ton of cash for stuff I can do myself, I tracked down a few of these relays… and I’ll tackle this repair on my own soon.
