What did you do to your JK today?

Damn, now that I'm retired, I could be doing that every day.... but nothing that scenic in my part of the world.
It look s like you have a few options.
Some the pics of NC look just as beautiful
as it does here my friend
I don't know the area so not sure how
far from you .

Really? When my kids were little, we used to go to Ocean Isle during the summers. I recall a lot of great scenery in NC. I always applied for a flight job at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Hospital during the trips, for tax purposes. Couldn't accept the job though. Too hot and humid there for my tastes.
There was a lot of Kudzu there, as I recall. Has that gotten any better?
Just sold our second home/future retirement home in Ocean Isle in April. Very familiar with the area.
I moved to NC in 1992 from SoCal and still haven't gotten used to the humidity, lol.
NC, while well known for its kudzu, isn't very off-road friendly and the closest Badge of Honor trail is a couple hours away. Let alone any logging or mining roads or even any overland trips.

What did I do with my JK today?

I crashed it.

One of our pets (Tom) developed an abscess in his cheek.

Our vet recently retired, and the new one has had staffing issues (who hasn't?) and they couldn't see him promptly. Given that he's a hundred and forty seventeen years old (18), I was concerned about letting it go till they could see him. Because sepsis, especially in geriatrics, is a big deal.

Fortunately, one of my former TKD students is now a veterinarian. Good kid. I started training her when she was in middle school. Awarded her a 2nd Dan before she went off to Vet school. Her practice is 2.5 hours away from us. I called her last night and she said bring him in today.

About an hour from her hospital, I missed a stop sign. Sign cluster on the NE corner. At 0800. With the sun right behind the cluster. The young lady I hit and the cop both said that sign is often missed, so it's known to be a problem intersection. I've had this Jeep 2.5 months. Put plates on it 2 weeks ago. She still had temp tags on her malibu.

Fortunately, there were no injuries in either vehicle. And although I got a ticket for running the stop sign, I had assumed I'd also be getting one for careless driving, since I caused the crash. So I'm happy about that. The officer says the court there will give me a deferment, and if I can just not have another accident in the next 6 months, this will vanish. I've had a drivers license since 1977 and this is the first time I've hit anyone, so I think I can manage that.

We got Tom to the vet, late, but still. And after a bit of surgery he's all better.

I'm going to need a new bumper. The fender/flare/grill have some minor damage, and the fender needs to be realigned. The steering wheel is turned 45 degrees to the right, and the Jeep pulls very slightly to the right, but I don't see any damage to the suspension or steering.

Her tires are pointing in different directions now...

Spent about an hour trying to find/decide on a busbar for power distribution to the new relay box.
It has to be small, with only a few connections, and i want one with a lid/cover that is somewhat waterproof.
Why is it so difficult to locate this kind of thing?

I found this one:

And this one:

Others are double or triple the price for the same damned thing!
Can anyone point me to other options?

BTW, the purpose of this is to get a fat power wire from the battery around the firewall and out towards the area behind the washer tank where my relay box is going to go. From this block, I can reduce the size of the wires such that the fuse leads can connect to them.

I'm glad Tom the cat is doing better now . Our 4 legged friends
are family and when thier sick it's tough .
Thankfully nobody was injured . Cause if you would have
slammed into the door . Could have been much worse.

I'm wondering if you should maybe get frame checked for
straightness? Cause the point of impact , malibu's tire & suspension
area. Your bumper is pretty twisted up so that's why I'm thinking .
maybe further damage . Hopefully not .
Glad your ok @Dirtydog . Your Jeep will get fixed , keep us posted
on new bumper choice .

Voswitch or Spod is what most guys use.
They come with everything ready to go.
Switches and fused power distribution box
that fits nicely behind windshield washer
resevoir. Plus a 60 amp relay that goes
between battery and dist box .
I remember you pucharsed switches
for a pillar mount . Both Voswith & Spod
have pillar mount options as well.
I don't think they sell power dist box
seperately as it's designed to be used as
a system with switches .
Anyways here is a link to the main
relay ,. Had to replace mine .
I got 60 amp version . Just screwed
to firewall close to battery .

Had to google Kudzu. So these invasive vines ,
are they really that out of control? Nothing they can
spray to kill it off?
Oh, there's stuff out there to kill it, but it'll kill everything else as well. Almost Agent Orange like stuff. We're talking anything alive- plants, animals, insects...

I’m new here but thanks to all the help and reading I was able to update my 2011 radio from 30 something to 50.01.01. I had some issues and it would not work via usb so I went old school and burned a CD and it worked. My maps are still old, that update failed but at least the appearance is a bit updated now. Thanks all!

I’ve yet to get mine to update, even with A DVD / CD. Can’t remember which one I used.

I tried so many different times I'm not even sure which finally worked, I'm a bit bummed about the map since my house isn't even in the old one but I like the updated screen lol I'll keep looking to see if I can update to a more recent map, I don't care if I have to keep a USB plugged in, I just like having the integrated GPS

Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. Integrated and always up to date.

All is well. And with your years of experience, you did not panic. Outstanding. Now do not take this personally, but your front end is B--- Ugly. Too bad you have to correct the drive situation. Cause, I would Love to Pilot my JK around here with that bad ass face. ( Ya, Speartip, I would like an Ugly bumper). All Good. D Dog, Take Care.

I was finally able to get the service guy at my local dealer to provide the PIN for the NAV radio that I removed from our Rubicon.
I gave it to my cousin as an upgrade from his factory radio, but he couldn't get it to work.
In any case, I had to provide the serial # of the radio and my VIN to get the code.

Just glad that it's possible.

Received the front plate mounting bracket, but I hate how far out it sticks from the front bumper so I need to modify it.
Next on the list:
circuit breaker
bus bars
wire
connectors
mounting plate (shipped)
SPDT switch that matches the rest on the A-pillar mount (ordered)
Run wires
Route GPS antenna
Install trail cam

That sounds like a lot, but it should be pretty simple as long as I gather all the parts and plan the project out to take it apart only once.

I don't know why anyone would take a comment like that personally. Ugly is 100% subjective. One persons cool is another persons puke. Anyone who expects 100% agreement on a Jeep build is a bit out of touch with reality.

Which plate mounting bracket did you
end up going with ?
