What did you do to your JK today?

Well today was headlight repair day!!!! The LED's someone installed before I got it, the harness was loose.

Took more time to remove the grill than actually tighten up the harness. No pictures of this....

Then it was decal install time. This is did get pictures of.

The dog decals are of my ACD Andie and my Australian Shepard Bailey. The wife and oldest granddaughter got those for me.

That's interesting. I had to put a zip tie to hold the headlight plug to 3 prong adapter in the factory wiring harness night before last. I thought I had a LED headlight going out. I have these in my JK & TJ. I really like them, if you decide to change yours.

Big modification today! 😂 Made some cinch straps for the soft top sail panels. I found that they tend to come loose if I run without the side windows and the rear window rolled up. I think the recommendation is to not go over ~35mph or so but I didn't like that. This config with the sun rider open is almost as good as the top fully retracted but quicker to provide shade or coverage overhead if required. I went for a test drive and everything stayed secure and in place with the straps.

I got tired of my passenger side coming loose even with zip-ties. I cut factory plug off and put the led style one on. No problems since been at least 2 years.

Changed the oil, filter and engine air filter.

Does the JK have a cabin filter???? If so anyone got the part number??
The JK doesn't come with them, but you can add them very easily. Well at least on the 2012+. I think the only way they came factory with the 2012+ is IF it had the auto climate controls. They take about 5 minutes to add on the 2012+.

Can confirm, my 13 with auto climate has a cabin filter. Drop the glove box, set your climate controls to recirc to drop the “door” and there ya go. I don’t have the number, your parts store will I’m sure.

BTW - it’s 2 smaller filters rather than 1 normal size, which brings to mind the saying…only in a jeep.

Coilover project is pretty much done. Just need to recheck that everything is tight. After that I will put the tires back on and roll it out to check ride height. I still need to change the brake lines but I will wait until I get it back from trans shop. Had an issue last friday, went to do a run with a few guys to lylte creek. Right at the trail head, the trans started slipping, coolant overheated and lots of smoke. I let it cool and was able to get home without issue. I made an appointment for Tuesday to see the trans doc. I will tidy up the coilover project adter I get it back from trans shop. It should be just changing the brakelines and a timing ring/dual rate adjustment.
