What did you do to your JK today?

Love that switch pod......but darn looks like not for my 2008 JK.
Why not? I have two 8-gang Voswitch systems, one in each Jeep. Look great. Work great. Fit any JK.

Finished up MOST of the switch pod/relay panel installation today.
It took ALL day - probably because I’m really slow and meticulous.
ALL under hood/exterior connections are crimped, soldered sealed w/ marine grade heat shrink (the one with the glue-type stuff inside it).
I routed all of the wires in loom & zip tied everything to avoid any loose wires, etc.
Installed the switch pod, relocated the GPS antenna, and got the trail camera installed. Also cleaned up the wire routing and washer hoses to make access to the hole in the firewall a bit easier

Still left is to connect the trigger wire from the reverse light circuit, and then connect switched power & ground to the rear lights.

This has been a fun, but very tedious project.

Got tired of not being able to see when reversing out of my garage or anywhere else. Found a DIY where people used recessed LED lights in the stock rear bumper. Best $20 bucks spent, lol. Every easy to do and would recommend doing it. If you decide to tackle this project make sure when you order the lights it includes the light template to make cutting the hole easier, my kit didn't come with the template.

Cheers

Looks great.
I bought a bumper with similar lights for the same reason.
I’m about to complete the wiring for a On-Off-On switch that will allow me to select when they work; automatic on when in reverse, off, on manually.
I can’t wait to be able to see better and for others to be able to see me better.

Thanks, can't wait to see your setup as well.

I'm a light fan. So (like @WestCoastDan) I bought bumpers with similar lights. I also added some extras, for when I really really want to see.

Hers has two 30W 6" LED bars mounted on the liftgate hinges and the bumper lights are tapped into the backup lights.
Mine has a 180W 32" LED bar mounted to the roof, and the bumper lights are switched.

I like Mrs Dogs 6” upper lights . That’s a good idea . I have a steel rear so would be tough to cut into but would be ideal placement . Could use some extra lighting in the back .You guys got me thinking now .

What do you mean a steel rear? You've been doing the "Buns of Steel" workout? Or you've got something other than the normal Jeep fiberglass hard top?
Mounting her lights was just a matter of loosening the bolt on the liftgate hinge, slipping the bracket in behind it, and retightening it. You do need to get the wires inside somehow. My choice was drill a hole and put a grommet in it.

Did you have any issue with voltage since they are LED’s? Or did you simply tie them into the reverse circuit at the taillights?
