What did you do to your JK today?

Alright. I will take your word for it.
This is all so overwhelming. I have been reading the forums for almost 2 months , every time I get something figured out someone says nope that’s not going to work.

Trying to do things right the first
Time, it seems like that isn’t possible.

Fair enough. Ive Never messed around with suspension on vehicles before so Its frustrating.

I was originally going to purchase the metalcloak 2.5 GC lift that comes with all the arms etc. Maybe I should go back to that plan.

Yes it is 4:10 gears on my unit.

I’m not into anything extreme, this jeep isn’t a daily driver, but I don’t trailer it to the trails either. Just want to armor up as
Much as possible , and I’ll be good on 35’s doing what I want to do.

I probably should have went all aluminum skid instead of the SB XRC . This stuff is so heavy.

Right now I’m on 285/70/17 and it operates fine. But I put a winch on it and in my opinion the front sags to much.

For the trails I drive , I want full skid and 35’s

Original reason for this post is I bought the SB XRC skids from a 4x4 shop who said they will fit. Apparently they do not and won’t accept a return. My bad for being ignorant and not knowing enough before hand. But learned a couple lessons in the process.

Might just cut my losses and go with a proper lift that has all the arms etc, trackbars etc. Every time I look into just a spacer lift someone says it’s going to cause problems.

Apparently MC 2.5 lift is upgradable to 3-4” if I need to go to that later.

Thank you for the info and your time.

Mine lost and rebalanced weight. I ditched the large, heavy, and plugged up OEM muffler last week. I've driving it this week with just the resonator and it was too loud for me. I wound up installing a 4" round Magnaflow straight through muffler today. It sounds really good. When I removed the OEM muffler, I noticed a quick jump in fuel mileage. My only contribution to that was that it was the original muffler and it was clogged after 220k miles. Tomorrow, if I get a chance, it will lose a bit more weight by removing the heat shield.

Have a sound file you can post with the Magnaflow installed??

Yesterday picked up the wife’s Jeep finally from the clockspring being replaced. First dealer wanted us to authorize up to $800 for diagnostic said forget it. Second dealer said $235 for diagnostic but if clockspring no charge. They covered it all under the extended warranty. But they did want $900 for new brakes front and rear, needless to say I declined.

Took my Jeep for the biannual CA smog today, it passed as the CEL had come on for temperature not rising fast enough. It went off a few days ago so took it in.

While at the dealer ordered two t-stats hopefully they show up soon.

Not all Rubicon's got 4.10 gears. I'd pull your VIN to verify.

I wouldn't put a lift on without adjustable control arms. Your ride, ground clearance, and alignment will be much better. Don't skip out.

I have to add, mine had the AEV 2.5" lift when I got the jeep at 22k miles. At 98k miles, here's my observation. It's got 3.73 gears &35s ‐ regear highly recommended but elevation and terrain play a big part... i plan on doing it, just hasnt been a priority. I'm done doing really technical trails so it's "okay" for me. Correction brackets have worked great, better than stock handling with no alignment issues. Slight loss in clearance, but really not much of an issue with the trails I do and driving technique. Just wanted to give personal experience with the AEV Correction brackets.

Nothing exciting but I've been putting it off forever. These crusty old battery terminals have been giving me hell for 2 years and I decided they had to go.

What an upgrade over OEM style.

The only complaint would be the allen key to tighten the new terminals is on the wrong side on the negative terminal and had to be rotated to mount into the recessed style battery post.

I cut allen key down to fit in the little opening. It would be nice if it screwed in on the other side.
