What did you do to your JK today?

Today I switched over to the "new to me" soft top. Acquired it in two purchases. The frame, brackets, surrounds, etc (and a worthless cover) was $25. A replacement cover in decent shape and tinted windows was $125. Not sure if I'm going to like this or not so I was happy to go forward with minimal investment as an experiment. If I like it I'll either wait for a nicer factory twill version to pop up on FB or purchase a twill replacement cover. If I end up mainly using the sun rider feature I'll probably just get the sun rider for hardtop. Time will tell!

Got the boy’s new steering gear box and tie rod assembly in today. The right tools sure help the job go smoother. Still have the new radiator to install but he had to go to work. I’m off to spray paint my sister’s ceilings now. I’m getting too old for these long days 😂. Hoping the Graco sprayer works. Worked well when I put it away.

Got the BlackMax shocks installed this morning. Took me a little longer than expected, but it came a down pour and I had to swap sides of the shop during install to keep myself dry!!!!

No decals on the shocks and no boots. Decals will go under the hood and boots will probably go in the trash or used for trade fodder.

I painted the inside of my shed last Summer using my Graco sprayer for the first time. Worked really well!
It worked great when I bought it. I said “this thing is amazing!” But paint sprayers seem to be one of those tools you put away and two years later go to use it and it doesn’t work. Of course my previous ones were cheap Wagners, maybe that’s why.

That said it worked amazingly again! I think it takes longer to clean it than the painting 😂. But it did a great job. Love the 18” extension and 90 degree adapter.

Definitely! I've learned over the years that it's a case where you pick the right tool for the job. My shed isn't finished inside so the sprayer was the ticket for all the exposed studs, etc. I wouldn't use it to paint drywall though. It might be faster for some, but not me. 😂

Not sure I would either. Her ceiling is that old “popcorn / spray acoustic” stuff so sort of hard to roll paint it.

But.... you can use the Graco to spray water on that popcorn in a relatively fine mist and simply remove the popcorn with a flat edge. Comes off really easily, it just makes a huge mess on the floor.
