Installed engine, transmission, and transfer skid plates today. Ordered from Rock Hard 4x4. Great looking product, installation went very smooth. Shipping was efficient too.

I think it was around 120 lbs. The engine skid I think was 78 and the transfer skid 42 I think. I installed them myself, so not too bad. They had aluminum but kept with the steel. Old fashioned I guess.

Got back from OBX a couple days ago. First flat towing experience, 850 miles, was a success. Jeep did well in the sand. Saw lots of horses.
Heading home Saturday, a line of 40-50 jeeps all heading to OBX. Anyone know what event that might have been?

Installed my Midland radio this weekend. Have a mic holder on order. Happy with the install except for at the footwell Couldn’t figure out how to get the entire interior door trim off so it comes out from under it and up the side to behind the glove box Overall happy with the install. Power is from the battery through a timed switch that senses when voltage drops below 11.5 volts and shuts off the unit.

Yes it is a GMRS. Used a Midland 3db gain antenna.

I have been trying to decide on which headlights I wanted to install to replace the weak OEM halogen pair. It just got more confusing every time I made up my mind, some bad reviews would turn me off again. So I recently installed an inexpensive set off Amazon, and I couldn’t be more satisfied. Under $100 (with the 3 year warranty too), and installed quickly.

Yes. Grill removal was simple

Interesting. I am sure it’s simple, seem to move around fairly easily when I installed my winch. Just surprised it had to come out. Well if I do it someday probably would make it easier to re-route the winch wires and some accessory lights I have on the front number .
