What did you do to your JK today?

You will be needing your winter coat soon too lol

Born and raised in Michigan and have a healthy tolerance for low temps. Showing up at golf course in Houston in golf shorts and a polo to start play in high 40s. ;)

Usual response? “Aren’t you cold???”

I packed two pair of slacks and a hoodie as winter gear for our six month escape.

Cowichan Valley . Still snow at higher elevations. Stayed on some lower elevation trails .

Received my new rear glass hinge covers. Will put them on tonight to see how they look 👀

So these lights were a big disaster! The lights were wired together with one lead going down to the taillight. Didn't think twice about it until I tried the turn signal and both lights started flashing. Not only that it was back feeding and making both taillights flash. The only way to fix this is to wire them separately but that is way more work than I want to do.

You can get plain old normal hinge covers on Amazon for about $8 each.

Looks like a good day!

Oh yeah , any day on the trails is a good day :) TBH it does get a tad frustrating at times when planning a day can’t go here or there cause to much snow .
During the summer in recent years many areas get gated cause it’s so dry . So window of opportunity to hit up the better summit trails in the spring is a couple months than have to wait for fall for the rain .
Not every trail get gates closed but many do .

$26 CDN here. Replaced mine on my six last year. Had Gorilla tape covering the hinges for salt protection. Chrysler Crap ones broke off years ago.
I had to replace them on her JKUR because I added THESE. They mount to the liftgate hinges, which altered the geometry enough that the covers touched when you opened the liftgate. That made them loose, and they popped off while driving. My fix was to spend a minute with the cover and a grinder to remove 1-2mm from the cover. Works a charm now.

I told the ebay seller what was wrong and that I wanted to send them back. He wants me to send a video, wtf? I may just cut all the wires off and leave it be. Now I'm wondering if this has something to do with both my turn signals flashing even after I unhooked them. Frustrated right now!

Actually yesterday, rewired the aftermarket radio‘s USB cable to the driver’s side dash. Routed a USB cable from that point up to the phone dash mount which is concealed for the most part. Now when the cable wears out, remove the side panel and connect a new one. The stock one in the center console is disconnected. Wired permanent power to the rear view camera mirror so the power port is available again, I don’t like permanent items plugged into it with wires hanging around. Then finally cleaned the inside all up, looking sharp till I go Jeeping again 😂.

I’ve purchased many items for my Jeep off eBay when not available on Amazon .
I always read the negative user reviews first . Yeah some are BS but I have moved along to a different seller more than once if I got a bad vibe from some of the comments .
Even if you send them video and they accept your claim there is a really good chance shpg will be on your dime .
Unless big seller the smaller sellers generally have poor service when it comes to returns .
I’ve been lucky and always received stuff that works as it should . Being in Canada I take a pass on any seller not using the global shipping program as that includes any duty charges .
Have to always read the fine print . When they say buyer responsible for any import fees without saying what the charged will be .Hard Pass . Cause at that who knows what will be charged .
I’ve seen shpg charges in hundreds of dollars . More than the product . Sometimes it just reeks like a scam .
Def eBay has become a buyer beware program . Least with Amazon shpg is free if on prime or min if not . Products that state in stock , are in stock and usually ship in a day or two .
There is a complete scam on eBay where seller will advertise product. You pay your money and it’s shipped in 10 days . Cause seller doesn’t actually have in stock . They have to order it in first .
Seen many reviews written about major delays in shpg .
So I will always ask now if they have there at the warehouse . Half the time . Well , er, uh, will be shipped in a week or two .
Been bite by that once . Did get product in about a month . All was good in the end but always ask now .
So def hear you about poor eBay experience . Easiest way to solve your issues. Disconnect and fig out main issue . Once sorted out rewire and connect each to correct signal . Or just cut the wires and use as normal hinge cover .

I've always had good luck with Amazon, only had to return a couple items which was there fault sending the wrong item somehow.

Also when you use the Amazon link at the top of the page a portion goes to this Forum to help with the Operating expenses.

Yes I heard Amazon returns are very easy .

Wait , What ? Where is this link you speak of ? Just looked and didn’t see it .
Never mind , found it . Lol
Unfortunately only good for US residents as it’s a link to Amazon in the States.
I was able to log in using Amazon password but didn’t have my profile , past purchases, or shopping lists .
Didnt redirect me to Amazon .ca. Went to Amazon.com which is the US site .
Oh well least others here know about now if didn’t before

Ahhhhh! I can start paying my way with that link. Been eyeballing the membership fee too. ;). Bet my Amazon purchases can put a dent in the overhead. 🤣

I try very hard not to buy anything from Amazon. I now see them as a slightly better version of Wish.com where you can't trust the reviews. I also focus at first on the negative reviews. That is where you will find the real ones. It's usually easy to parse out the ones that are user error.

If possible I will go with the actual manufacturer, even if I have to pay a bit more. I'll have to use the link for the times I do.

If I try to use Amazon.com it reverts me to Amazon.Ca when I source JK parts. Think I told Chris that?

If you focus on the negative reviews. Ones bank account would grow. Just fooling around.
