What did you do to your JK today?

Took the daughter to East TN for the later part of last week. We spent Thursday in Pigeon Forge exploring (her first time since she was 6-months old, she's 10). Our group showed up to the campground Thursday evening and we spend Friday on Walden's Ridge at Windrock. Saturday was a bust for the trails because a JKU (orange one with Wheat's on the side) was having issues with his fan; we won't leave anyone behind. So, we got to spend quality time with friends and family around the campground.

I'm still learning how to drive coming from a built TJ to the built JKU. I've got the length down, but the full width 1-ton axles still give me fits. It's tough to trust when you're at a 40-45° angle and all 4 tires are still firmly on the ground. The TJ would have been laid over by then.

If you're ever going to Windrock, we highly recommend Coal Creek Campground in Rocky Top, TN. The owners are great people (one of them is a great friend and the blue TJ in the pictures).

If you want to see reels and videos of the weekend, check out Wheat's Off-Road YouTube and Facebook. We are out at least once a month, most months twice.

I’m not terribly far from windrock. Do they have any trails for people with no experience?
They have mild to wild. You'll just need to get OnX to see the maps and visit the General Store to see the best trails. There are events there almost every weekend too, motocross, BMX, and rock crawling. There is also a couple of TN OHV parks outside of Rocky Top; Sand Mines and Tacket Creek.

ECGS has great CS and sell at the lowest they can. I don't have any experience with the other two.

I got all new rubber drain plugs since the ones in the Jeep are 20 years old. Also got a new glow in the dark tire gauge.

This is going to sound stupid but I want to change my lug nuts to regular ones. The ones I have now require a key and I've always thought that shit was useless because if anyone really wants your wheels, you can just mallet a socket over the lug nut. Does anyone have recommendations of a particular brand to get?

What rubber drain plugs? Inside the cargo area?

I have the OEM style non-locking. This seems something I’d 100% get from rock auto.

That is what I did last Summer. I hate the locking ones and, unless you have something really custom, really savvy thieves have most of the universal patterns anyway. So they're a deterrent, but also can be an annoyance. For instance, when a dumbass like yours truly is in a hurry pulls a socket off and doesn't realize the locking key remained on the lug nut before going for a drive! So either make sure you have a backup or remove them.

I purchased these to replace the single locking nut at each wheel:
