The D60 calipers are very heavy and suck at braking in a JK. We put this on my brothers ECGS D60 last summer. The calipers are so much lighter and stop in a dime and hold with little pedal effort.

Swapped the Ford hubs for a set of Warn Premiums. They turn a lot better, have less crap inside them, and don't say Ford.

Just dropped off the Jeep for the re-gear. Mechanic says he'll try to get it knocked out today but I don't expect it to.
End of next month, my Mickey Thompsons will go on.

I went with the AEV 2" spacer lift and the tires are 35x10.5r17s.

Once I decided I wanted to keep the 75th anniversary wheels that color match the bumpers, all the other decisions fell into place.

The 7.5" wheel is well within the range of the 10.5" tire and because the tire is narrow and only nets ~33.75" when mounted I didn't need a much larger lift. The tire was a bit more expensive (about $125 more than the Wildpeaks in 35x11.5) but the tire is light and everything mounts where it should, including the spare on the tailgate.

After doing a lot of measuring and guessing, I estimated the 10.5s would not need spacers and that turned out to be right. I bought some just in case but I'll be returning them.

Overall, happy with the aggressive look of the wheel/tire combo along with the lift but also pleased that I won't be facing any of the other challenges once you get 3" and higher on the lift. I may opt into some aftermarket control arms if I find the drivability isn't there but otherwise will keep as much stock as I can.

So they opened up my rear diff to do the regear and found that my carrier and spider gears were just completely combusted. They said they had no idea how I was even able to drive the Jeep there.

Tried to look around and find a new carrier + spider gears but obviously discontinued parts and not even junkyards had them. I ended up ordering an overnight delivery for a Torq Masters Aussie Locker, which apparently hasn't shipped yet. I'm probably going to end up telling them I want a refund on the $200 dollars I paid to rush it here since we have different definitions of overnight rush delivery apparently.

EDIT: Spoke to Cora from Torq Masters over the phone. She was very nice. Basically they're being inundated with scammers and weren't done vetting my purchase to make sure it was real. Got that all cleared up and my Aussie locker shipped out, should have it tomorrow.

Swapped out the lower panel in the dash. Since I swapped in my PRP seats and use the Auxbeam to control their heating feature, I didn't need the OEM heated seat buttons anymore. It's my OCD that wanted it to change. Now it matches my '12 that I daily.

Are you going to drive it? If so you want a selectable locker. A lunchbox will stay locked all the time and you'll eat through tires. When turning, the inside tire spins slower. With a lunchbox locker, it will not and it will scrub the tire. And your turning radius will suffer.
 
I know how automatic lunchbox works. It will modify my driving for a little but the rest is extremely highly exaggerated. The most annoying thing about it will be the noise for the first 500 miles.

You'll be back here complaining about it. The noise never goes away. It doesn't just magically stop ratcheting.

Dude I'm hearing damaged and I already roll a softop / no top , I don't really give a shit about the noise. What you're willing to tolerate and what I'm willing to tolerate are different things.

I get all the criticisms about rear automatic lockers but honestly it's not a huge deal to me and I'm willing to deal with a few changed driving characteristics. I'd be more concerned if it was going into the front given the weather we can get where I live. I may eventually get a selectable locker for the front but I'm going to see how the rear feels. It's not like removing it is that hard and if I don't like it, I can just re-sell and get something else.
