What did you do to your JK today?

Hello y'all, today I installed a set of JBL component speakers. I plan to add an amplifier some day, but for now they sound good, but do put the head unit to work.

Sure. Popcorn ceiling is nothing more than skim coat with little styrofoam beads mixed in. It's easier to spray on than priming and painting drywall on the ceiling.
I used a simple spray bottle and a 12" plastic drywall trowel and knocked out an entire room in a few hours. Takes more time to get everything moved and/or covered and cleaned up.after the job is done.

Wish my small popcorn walls would be that easy!

Really? The Walls?
Can't say that in all my years in the residential construction business and real estate home inspections I've ever seen that.

OLD house problems. I have the OG "popcorn" walls and ceilings. Textured plaster, horsehair and lath. It sucks waking up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and bump into the walls. Some mornings it looks like I have road rash on my arms....ok, maybe that's extreme but I'll still be cut up. I'll snap a picture of the walls when I get home.

Fenway was having a good day so we went for a ride. No trails but he at least got out to enjoy some fresh air and the hum of the tires. Hopefully he improves more and we can hit the trails soon.

I've read one of the best therapies and most enjoyable times for senior dogs are rides. They to see and smell- just the smells are supposed to be extremely gratifying and therapeutic for older dogs.

I've heard that too. Our boy is only 3 years old though. He started having really bad seizures in January. We got an MRI done and they found a marble sized spot in the center of his brain. We have him on medication but he still has his good and bad days till he gets used to the new medication.

Based on what you've said, I gathered that he wasn't an older guy, but those rides still help to get him feeling better, I hope.

My wife has her late mother's MB SLK350 with the convertible retracting hardtop and every once in a while she takes Cooper (4 yo) out. He thinks he's king sh** riding around in a Benz.

He's not big fan of the lifejacket when we're on the boat.

The rides definitely help! He loved every min and every mile. He was exhausted when we got back home.

Hahahaha....I bet he does think that!

Today I switched over to the "new to me" soft top. Acquired it in two purchases. The frame, brackets, surrounds, etc (and a worthless cover) was $25. A replacement cover in decent shape and tinted windows was $125. Not sure if I'm going to like this or not so I was happy to go forward with minimal investment as an experiment. If I like it I'll either wait for a nicer factory twill version to pop up on FB or purchase a twill replacement cover. If I end up mainly using the sun rider feature I'll probably just get the sun rider for hardtop. Time will tell!

One of the stay straps ripped on the soft top frame so I added some grommets and zip ties to keep tension on that side for now

It is a PITA by yourself. It's doable by yourself (ask me how I know 😉) but would be 1,000x easier with another set of hands to slip the belt off a pulley while you hold it. The longer 1/2" breaker bar you have the better too for more leverage.

Weather was a bit milder today so changed my belt. Not too bad with one person. I found that the tensioner is much like a compound bow - once you get it to the limit its fairly easy to hold. Getting it there is a chore, though. I used my long breaker bar with an extra hunk of pipe!
