What did you do to your JK today?

No idea how old these are, but the Texas sun's done a number on the paint with oxidation. The front has a dent/crease from wheeling that'll get torch heated and sledge hammered back into somewhat normal and flat shape. Several small scrapes and strictly surface rust on the rear too, but no deformation. They're staying on, hence the repaint. The rear is the XRC gen 1 also with the spare tire holder and it's awesome. The front's got the tall stinger that is slightly distracting going down the road. It sure get's folk's attention at stop lights in their rear view mirrors.

The rock rails will be later this summer because they gotta come off and be scrubbed and pressure washed before painting.

I can't see spending big bucks on replacing something that $20 worth of paint will make good again. My wallet has a tight alarm feature. lol

I killed my winch today.

I was using it to uproot some very overgrown high bush blueberry bushes and the winch just died.

I did the first bush no problem and we went to do the second one and the winch gradually slowed down and stopped. The engine was on and the battery is charged. When pressing the buttons on the control the solenoid only clicks sometimes but nothing moves. It still free spools just fine. Any tips on where to start troubleshooting?

Could be a bad solenoid, or dirty connection.

With spring approaching, don't forget to reverse your battery cables so the AC comes on instead of the heater.

Editing videos from yesterday...screen grab from breaking a HF strap on a double line pull in heavy wet snow...and we use shackles here...hard or soft.

Wanted a replacement from Factor 55 but $105 is a hard sell. Bought 2 x 20' from Rhino not USA for $50.

Looks like your in pretty deep
The Factor 55 is pricey but supposed to be a very tough & durable
Watched a JK Gear & Gadgets video awhile ago where he was explaining how the soft shackles work . Pretty cool . Hadn’t seen them before

I added my company name and phone number to the Jeep today. I went with a windshield banner because it stays on when my roof and doors come off.

I'm still going to get my logo professionally made to go on the doors but that's too complicated for me to do at home.

The stickers were cut with my girlfriend's Cricut. I got it pretty straight but not centered. It's not too far off though.

Mrs. Dog should hit 191,000 today.
We retired last April, and bought my '13 in August. But up to then we had a 120 mile round trip commute to work, so we put on a lot of miles. The Corvette has about 175,000 on it. I sold a Chevy Colorado with 140,000 on it to buy my Wrangler.

That's always a great way to advertise. But I'd suggest doing it over. Measure and painters tape to get it centered. Because honestly, if I saw it, it would dissuade me from calling. There's a gut feeling that if your application of the decal is sloppy, your other work might be sloppy as well.

I'm not saying you are, I'm just saying that is the impression. And it's too expensive to hire you to weld something and THEN find out it's true.

I may end up doing that. I'm gonna use these to see how they hold up against the windshield wipers.
