    Does 11 MPG seem right?

I have an 09 Rubicon with 4.10s and 35s. When I first got it, I was getting around 13 mpg. I noticed that my transmission fluid was overfilled so I sucked some out and now get closer to 16 mpg. I wonder if your steering gear box could be tightened. It’s easy to do, I’m sure you can find a...

Lift needed to fit 35" tires

I have pucks and am running that exact tire size. It was like that when I bought it. I have not done any heavy off-roading but can’t imagine it being an issue even if I did. Have only had my Jeep for a few thousand miles but all is good. I was honestly going to switch the pucks out for springs...

HELP! Vent window seal, Play in steering wheel

Centering your steering wheel is easy. There is a sleeve on the drag link that you loosen then turn Clockwise or counterclockwise to center the steering wheel. There could be lots of reasons for loose steering, good to look underneath and front while someone is turning the steering wheel...

    Death Wobble Hitting Bumps

This sounds like bump steer and can be caused by your drag link and track bar not being parallel. Had this in mine and used a track bar relocation bracket to fix it. Good luck.

    Front axle seal help

Just did my axle seals and spent about $60 for the seal press to push them in. I would think it would be difficult to push them in without it. One thing I learned when reinstalling the carrier was to put it on my chest, slide under the differential and lift it upwards. Like bench press it. I...

High beam and low beams are reversed with LED headlights

If these are the cheaper eBay type lights then yes they are reversed. You have to swap the wires. I did on mine and they work great. You will still have to adjust them down from the stock lights. I am very happy with them.

    Comprehensive insurance

Will your adjuster cut you a check as opposed to just paying the body shop directly? That would allow you to do your upgrades first then take it to them.

    Comprehensive insurance

I’ve worked in insurance for 31 years. If a company is trying to nickel and dime you over a few hundred or even a few thousand dollars then you have the wrong insurance company. Regardless of what you see on TV or read reputable insurance companies pay their claims very timely and fairly. They...

    Help with sloppy front end

Lots of things it could be. Most likely culprits: ball joints, tie rod, drag link. If your mechanic cannot diagnose the problem, I would probably try to find one that can. Also is your Jeep lifted? Larger tires? Worn out suspension parts are generally easy to spot for someone who knows what...

Buying a JK, newbie needs help

The pictures I see look to show only some minor surface rust. what you don’t want to see are areas where the rust has weakened the steel.

i deleted mine and everything is good to go. I check my tire pressures pretty regularly with a nice digital gauge.

    Catalytic convertor recommendations

Interesting, my 09 JKU runs down the drivers side. You would think they would all be the same. I got my new cats on eBay for about $230. The quality seems very good and my Jeep runs great. Also haven’t thrown an O2 sensor code since I have had them. if it’s the same layout just in reverse, I...

Ticking noise coming from 2010 Wrangler only below 1500 RPM

I know certain oil filters can cause a tick, I always use an OEM one. I believe it is because of a drain back valve.

Oxygen sensors and catalytic convertors continue to go bad

What symptoms are you having? Check engine light? Is it running poorly? When you replace the O2 sensors are you using OEM parts?
