How I converted my Wrangler JKU front end to a Land Rover Defender

Hey Guys, Thought I'd share with you a video series I created on how to convert a Wrangler JK/JKU to a Land Rover Defender 90/110. I've done both. The process isn't hard but, requires significant money and lots of time. I absolutely love driving a vehicle with awesome modern engineering...

    Jeep Beach 2021 Pictures

This was a great event to see some really awesome Wranglers. I think attendance is way down from the 200K attendees in 2019. I would say under 2000 this year and probably under 500 wranglers. Still, it was great to check it out.

    Angry Eyes

I just got back from Jeepbeach 2021 in Daytona Beach Fl. Probably close to a 1000 wranglers and only a few older jeeps had angry eyes. They are no longer in vogue but, I sort of like seeing the few that I did because it reminds us of a by-gone-era. Sort of like bell bottom jeans. Not a single...

Florida 2008 JKU with a Land Rover Defender Front End

This is an 2008 Sahara with an authentic Land Rover Defender front end. I love Land Rover Defenders but, I don't like all the problems that come with owning them. I'm retired and this is what I do for a hobby. I take my time and use all high quality authentic parts. I fabricate the necessary...

A way to make it easier to put windshield down on my JK

Hey JerryD, I converted another Jeep to a Defender. This time, it is a JKU to a Defender 110. I need to sell this one. I will post a better video on youtube soon. I took lots of pics on how I did it.

    Angry Eyes

My JKU came with an angry eyes grill. I guess they are okay for some but, I don't feel like they make a Jeep more "bad ass". To me, they strike me as kind of silly. Anyone else feel the same way? I removed them and went with something different that I like better. Anyone feel the same way...

Wrangler JKU front end conversion to Defender 110

Hey BLACKJKU, I purchased most of the parts from Rovers North in VT which costs me over $4K. You need to know how to weld to do this. I posted a video on how to do it on youtube but, I'll post another in depth how to video when I finish the green machine build. I have to fabricate panels to...

Should 150k miles deter me from buying this 2011 JK?

I don't think so. I'd take it to a local garage and have them look it over. If the vehicle is lifted, I always assume problems.

Is this used 2010 Jeep Wrangler Sahara a good purchase?

I think so. I think un-lifted wranglers present the least likely to have issues after the sale. Take it to a local shop and pay them to look it over.

Wrangler JKU front end conversion to Defender 110

My next conversion. This is a 2008 from Naples, FL. It is in great shape but, I'm not an angry bird fan. I'm putting a Defender 110 front on it. What do you guys think? https://ibb.co/D4BJcWX https://ibb.co/kc9BgMc

A way to make it easier to put windshield down on my JK

Thank you. I can't keep all three. I'll send the FJ in a year or so. I've had it for 20 years. That blue one is also very nice.

A way to make it easier to put windshield down on my JK

Hey Chris and JerryD, I own three different 4x4s: 1977 Toyota FJ40, 1992 Mercedes 250GD and the 2013 Wrangler shown in the picture. I didn't want an old Defender but, I like the look of them. The wrangler is the best of the three for sure. I just purchased a JKU that I will turn into a...

A way to make it easier to put windshield down on my JK

Long story. I wanted a defender but, not all the problems and inconveniences. I wanted a modern Wrangler but, everyone has one and I like to be different. So, I purchased a Wrangler and put a Defender front end on it. I love it and get the best of both.

    LED headlights and radio static

I ran into this problem of radio reception after installing LED headlights. I tried ferrite chokes but, they didn't help resolve the issue at all. I had to move the antenna to the rear of the vehicle which helped a lot but, didn't completely fix the problem.

    2014 JK headlights

Not left or right but, make sure they are rights side up. Also, you might want to search this forum on the topic of LED headlights causing radio reception problems. Have you tested radio reception with the new headlights on and off? I've run into this issue on one of my 4x4s.

A way to make it easier to put windshield down on my JK

Hi Guys, Last year I purchased a Wrangler JK for my 2nd home, I love my Jeep but, was disappointed to learn that putting the windshield down was an inconvenient and time consuming process. I put the windshield down frequently on my Toyota FJ40 and Mercedes 250GD. A windshield down isn't for...
