    Rubicon Build (Upgraded Bumpers)

Finally got around to upgrading from the stock bumpers. The new front one is crazy solid and heavy. Next up winch and front lighting...

Running power for off road lights out back

JK stalls while shifting to reverse

Transmission fluid level would be my first place to try. Mine did the same, checked level it was a little low. Added and fixed the problem. It was always the first start of the day for some reason.

Running power for off road lights out back

I just did this kit on mine and was impressed with how clean it looks. Its a couple hour job but looks almost stock when done. It was around $200 but allows for 6 lights to be easily added.

    Back Bumper Help Needed

I excitedly bought my new bumpers for my 2016 Rubicon. Once they shipped I noticed in the notes that the rear fits up to a 33" spare, I am running 35's. I have the stock tire carrier and what looks to be a 1.5" spacer behind the spare. Anyone else by chance running this bumper to lend insight if...

Will this Rough Country rear bumper clear my 35 inch tire?

So just found out it was $50 cheaper because they are discontinuing it, lol. They just refunded my order. I guess I will go with the other company and pay the extra $50...

Will this Rough Country rear bumper clear my 35 inch tire?

Woah, good call. That is $50 cheaper, I will just have to see when the actual ship date would be. I will try to ask ET the same question.

Will this Rough Country rear bumper clear my 35 inch tire?

Getting ready to upgrade the bumpers on my JK. I saw this one by Rough Country but am worried it will clear my 35" spare. I reached out with a question to them but never heard back. The tire in the pic looks to be a 35". Anybody running this setup that can verify the fit before I pull the trigger?

    Bumper Upgrade

Holy smokes, that is a great, clean setup. Let me know how that works. I would rather spend a bit more and get what I want than to be wanting for something better.

    Bumper Upgrade

I am trying to keep from putting a bank of switches inside but foresee a light bar, winch, etc soon so maybe its inevitable. I might just get the bumper and wire the the lights into a switch to use as needed. I was trying to take the easy way out, I guess.

    Bumper Upgrade

I am thinking of upgrading the bumpers on my Rubicon. I thought about getting a rear one with cube lights built in and then wiring them to the reverse lights. Has anyone else done this? I am wondering if the LEDs will flag some sort of code or if the whole idea is just silly. Thoughts?

    Shock advice

I did Fox 2.0 on mine and wouldn't trade them. Great looks and smoothed out the ride.

    Big Brake Upgrade Question

You had mentioned that before, just was wanting to get anyone else's thoughts too. I don't feel I need the booster but might change my mind down the road.

    Big Brake Upgrade Question

Being an mechanical engineer, I might be over-thinking this but... I installed the Crown big brake with dual pistons and am pretty sure I got all the air out and also bled the whole system. The pedal feels like it goes further down to stop than previous stock setup did. I did not change out the...

    Running wires through firewall

Agreed, good to know. I want to add a light bar at some point but didn't want to butcher up anything to run the wiring.

Any experience with this RT Off-Road big brake kit?

Too funny, I get it. I didn't install the booster and master cylinder as I thought it already had the larger pieces stock on the 2016 Rubicon.

My new Fox 2.0 shocks ride better than Rancho 9000XL shocks

I got my Fox 2.0 IFP shocks installed this weekend and there is a noticeable improvement over the stock Rubicon shock that had 55k on them. The ride is definitely smoother over rough roads, not nearly as jarring over bigger bumps. It took forever to get them in due to Covid, but well worth the...

Any experience with this RT Off-Road big brake kit?

@JerryD Got my kit installed this weekend and should have listened to you. The caliper bracket is indeed too close to the rotor when installed. I had to make a quick run to Ace Hardware to pick up some washers for my install. At least I had the bolt in hand so was able to get a washer that...

    Sunday Funday Rubicon Upgrades

Finally got around to installing a few parts on my Rubicon this weekend. Installed Fox steering damper, Fox 2.0 shocks all the way around and the Crown front big brake fit with dual piston calipers. Shocks ride way better than the stock ones (55k miles), have to get the brakes bedded in fully...
