What did you do to your JK today?

Ordered a Spectra premium coil pack & NGK plug wires.
Already purchased Champion plugs.
Kinda a drag that replacing the plugs on a JKU is an event .
Going to take off passenger side wheel and fender liner to get at that side .
Washed it today . Mag armour going on in the AM as hitting up a trail that does custom pin stripping tomorrow :)

Went on the Wentworth Springs to Loon Lake portion of the Rubicon. Jeep did an amazing job! I did bend the drivers side rear shock shaft, it’s leaking. Hope to see if AEV will replace under warranty. Also put a hole in the rear driveshaft boot, so need to replace that. I‘m not sure what all is inside but probably don‘t want dirt and water etc. getting in there. We had a good time.

I like that terminal cover .As @WestCoastDan had a point & one I hadn’t thought of till he brought it up.. Such a buzz kill .lol
Anyways does that terminal cover come with clamp or is it something you rigged up yourself ?
Honestly, I did a photoshop with that picture. I think I'm going to get 2 sets of these. Cut them to fit and zip tie them on. They don't make terminal covers for those clamps.

Drove off road through some pretty rough terrain to get to Toquerville Falls today. (Photos are on the wife’s phone)
He then took us to a spot he knows for lunch.
Then I had to be towed - for the first time.😡
I drove it as hard as anyone else who had to drive it 300+ miles home would; not abusive or risky.
Never needed 4 Lo or lockers, just 4H.
We stopped for lunch and it wouldn’t restart.
Radio worked, just no start.
No click, just dead.
The volt meter I put in indicated 11-13v, depending on what we were trying.
We tried a jump, but it still wouldn’t crank.
Just a few clicks, or worse; no clicks.
Battery seemed fine until it didn’t.
Installed last fall, probably November.
Optima YellowTop.
Luckily, my buddy was there with us and able to tow me to the street and we were also able to go to his place for tools and to get a new battery.

It’s always something.
Still had a great day off-roading.
This thing is like a mountain goat.

Never had an issue on any terrain or obstacle that we encountered.

It's always something. My EGR valve has been cracked at the base for over two years. It is working no codes. can smell a little exhaust at idle when it is closed. It is not coming off, bolts are rounded (winters) one sheared off. I have a new one somewhere, disconnected it from the top. I warmed up the 3.8 and red lined it in the driveway, no issues yet. What is the worst that can happen? Yet to put the tire back on and take it for a hard ride. I would prefer it failed in the closed position, hence the disconnection. Thoughts?

I have a tendency when out on the middle of nowhere to keep the Jeep running if taking a 15 min break . For exactly that reason . Being towed 50 miles threw all types of terrain in a dead Jeep would blow
Ice Road truckers up north never shut down there rig when resting or whatever between towns .
Cause if it doesn’t start up .
Could be a world of hurt & long time for help .

Glad it just was a battery issue .

Replaced plugs , wires & coil pack .
Plugs 6 & 5 electrodes were worn right down
Plug 1 electrode was gone ?

Low rpm vibration and hesitating at HWY speeds is gone .
Went in from up top to do passenger side . The only real hassle was removing boots .
Three of the wires left the contact on top of plug .
Put on a bit of anti seize on plugs . As #2 plug needed breaker bar to loosen . The others came out fine .
Good coating of Die Electric grease on both ends of plug wires to make it easier next time .

My OEM wires where on good after 13yrs. I used that extended removal tool from Amazon. Had to attack 5 and 3 from under, had the wheel and fender insert off to Fing B around with the EGR anyways. Used dielectric and draped (for now) the passenger OEMs over the intake, can disconnect, reconnect the EGR easier. Had #2 plug out ( that was a B, and it is the easy one to get at

) it was fine, gap was still in tolerance. Not going to attempt the others, they will shear off with my luck. All Good

@Speartip, those old plugs look like they were gapped with a ruler...

Looks that way . Lol
TBH don’t think ever seen plugs like this . They’ve been in the vehicle waaaay to long .
I’ve owned the Jeep for 2 years . No idea when they were changed last .If it wasn’t such a PITA would’ve checked awhile ago .
Wouldn’t be surprised if this is a common occurrence in the Jeep’s cause the passenger side isn’t that easy to access.
