I have an 07 JKU 6-speed manual 2WD and the weirdest thing happened the other day. While driving I had the airbag light come and then go off. Then several other lights came on at once and went away. The head unit turned on and then off and on.

I checked the battery and tightened all the connections at the battery. I even took terminals off and cleaned them. Since I have only owned it for 9 months I did look at the battery sticker and the battery is almost 5 years old. I have a ton of aftermarket electronics on this Jeep as well.

With all this info, can you help point me in the right direction or what do you think it might be? I thought it might be battery but everything is tight and the Jeep is firing up fine. Thanks in advance.

Yes I
A old battery and alot of electronics doesn't make a good combination.
have AMP power steps, LED lights, custom audio with 2 subs. Wouldn't a bad battery just make it to where the Jeep would not start? Why would lights go crazy while driving?

Also check your alternator.
You can do a basic check by measuring voltage across the battery terminals with the engine running.
If this indicates less than 14 volts, it is probably failing to charge the battery.

Have you ever noticed what your volts are when that happens.

I’ll go so far as to recommend that you actually replace the battery clamps when you replace that old battery.
Terminals look liek they have been replaced and I cleaned with the dedicated cleaner. I might go to Autozone and have them test the battery and alternator at the same time. The sticker says 5/18 so coming up on 5 years old...

My money is on the battery, assuming the terminals are clean and tight. Take it almost any automotive store and they can test the system.

My Jeep is currently at the dealership again for a similar issue. The tech thinks he traced the issue to a corroded CAN bus body connector located below the headlights. I'm just waiting to go pick it up to test it myself.

I tried unplugging all my added electronics, new battery terminals, new battery, removing/cleaning the TIPM, removing the clock spring (mine was broken), installing a ESP/ABS/Traction Controll bypass, removing and reinstalling the WCM/TPMS module, unplugging the PCM, checked loosened and tightened all the grounds I could find, and unplug/reinstall all wiring harnesses I could find. No luck. Two trips to the dealer...

If it works this time I'll try to find the connector that he found and make a post about it.

If it doesn't work I'll probably just push the rig into the sea.

I did have my clockspring replaced under a recall a few months ago but no major issues since then. any chance it could be that?

So Autozone said the battery is fine and so is the alternator. I had them scan the codes and nothing popped up.

i drove the Jeep for about 50 miles today which is a lot for me and all the warning lights came on and went off and the head unit went on and off while driving early on when it was cold. At idle sitting still, the lights never came on and off. Then as I drove more and more and kept the Jeep warm the lights never came on....

I have no clue what to look at. Has anyone ever experienced that? Is the ECU resetting itself after disconnecting the battery and cleaning everything? Loose ground somewhere maybe on the block? I have no clue...

I got mine back from the dealership a couple days ago and it's been working fine. Here's the location of the connector that was causing problems for me.

there was some corrosion shooting some of the pins together. Honestly there are many connectors on the vehicle that could cause this problem.
