Show me your lightbars

Put door trim on the lower four fins, my old lightbar did that and it made it go away. The newer kc has blade silencers, doesn’t whistle. There is also aero shields but I think they look awful.
Thanks for the tips. Do you have any pictures of what you mentioned?

2013 JKU Sahara. I don’t know the brand since I bought the Jeep with them on. One issue that I have is wind noise once I hit 60mph on the highway with the light bar. I try to tinker with the angle but still get varying levels of wind noise. If anyone has suggestions for that it would be appreciated and a purchase consideration for this thread. Thanks

hey everyone. So I've been thinking about these lightbar options for a month or so now. I had a light bulb go off in my head last night as I was cleaning my Harley Road King. Before I explain I've decided not to go with the roof (above windshield bar), but I do want to add the cowl work lights. After searching on Ebay and amazon, I just haven't seen any lights that I like. So here's my idea. I want to install the exact same driving lights that are on my Road King. I can buy the buckets in black and buy a set of cowl light brackets. The LED lights in the Harley are identical to the ones I have in my bumper, except the ones in my bumper are black so I'll order the black ones. What do you think? dumb idea? I can order everything for about $100.

You'll just need to do it and then we'll have to decide how it looks, but really see no reason why not.

I took my lightbar off in favour of cowl lights .
Went with KC Slimlight LED’s.
7500 lumens each.
Aluminum Housing .
EVO cowl mount .
Bright AF.
Prefer like the look compared to a lightbar .

I really like the KC lights. I got all my parts ordered yesterday. Brackets, housings, lights, and trim rings. I need to think about how and where to add a switch for them. Any idea's other than a remote?

Spod-style switch boxes. Super easy to install, waterproof, look good, and they simplify all your future installs since you don't have to run wiring into the cabin.

I just read the Amazon reviews on the Nilight overhead switch pod and they are terrible! They say they don't fit correctly. Looked at Xprite on ebay. It seems to have better reviews. Since it attaches to the footman loop, do you lose the ability to fasten the freedom top?

I don't know about that particular one. I have installed THIS panel, from Voswitch, in both of our Jeeps. They also attach to the footmans loop, but do not in any way interfere with the Freedom Top.

I don't have a lightbar over my windshield, but I can suggest a switch location. I bought an A-pillar switch set. They're everywhere, including Amazon, Extreme Terrain, etc. easy to install and gives you four switches, pre-wired. Color-coded too. https://www.extremeterrain.com/redrock-4x4-apillar-switch-panel-w-switches-0717-jk.html
If you're only going to need a few switches, these are awesome. Their only (not huge) weakness is that you have to wire each switch individually. Which means running wiring into the cabin for each switch. The Spod/Voswitch packages win there. You run one wire into the cabin when you install the switch pod, and that's it. All other connections are made under the hood, which is pretty much always easier.

That's my dilemma right now. I like the A-pillar switches, but I would have to relocate my trailer brake possibly? I did find a switch box that screws to the existing A-pillar and has the the control center under the hood. Other than the cowl lights, I may add a roof rack and rear work lights one day. I'm almost leaning toward the overhead at the moment. This is a harder decision than I was expecting lol

You be replacing or covering that A-pillar, so you'd have to move it. But the new one would have plenty of room to drill a hole for that switch, exactly as you did on the original install.

I chose the overhead in part because of the number of switches available. I am never in favor of doing the same job twice. So doing one 8-switch install vs one 4-switch install was an easy choice. As it turns out, I'm using 7 of 8 in my JKUR. Only 4 of 8 in hers.

I’m with Dog on this one .
I have a 6 switch overhead .
It’s so easy connecting new accessories. Spod fuse box under the hood .

Got the lights installed today. I haven't purchased the switches yet. I like the S-pod overhead but not the price uggg.

Looks really good . Are you able to get amber covers ?
Cowl lights are awesome . But found out this evening when in the clouds , raining . Left turns on the trail the beam almost impairs vision for a moment .
Going to order amber lense covers for my KC’s.
Prob won’t use the amber much except when in thick fog , clouds with rain . Kinda a perfect storm moment
