Wow. That is about 3 years old jeep and rubber should not break within 5 years.2017 Sahara, had the head of the OEM latch break off at 70 mph. The main safety latch saved me from a disaster.
I replaced mine with a set of JL latches that I got off of Amazon for 25 bucks. I couldnt stand the flutter everytime an 18 wheeler would pass me on the highway. I have zero movement now.
I have read posts of people keeping their stock latches and removing the spring under the hood but I havent tried it.
I appreciate it. I don't want to buy them and then they not work.I'll take a pic with them open tomorrow morning when I get home from work.

Thank you.
Does any of your hand latches have adjustments to take-up slack? I noted on mine that they have adjustments.
I think there is no adjustment on OEM latchesDoes any of your hand latches have adjustments to take-up slack? I noted on mine that they have adjustments.
The locks will slow down a thief that wants your battery.I got no flutter but by just reading this thread I end up buying one pair from Amazon for $17 bucks . Easy install and I end up liking it! I don't see the need for locks but it came with it.

I guess it's not a every good lock then. LoLYou can grab it on the top end and yank in down sideways in one hand and the lock will break, the lock is mounted so wimpy and plasticky.
