Check all Emissions lines underneath the back of the vehicle all the way to the gas tank. The connection on top of the gas could have a crack in it.
I had 2 Evap lines that were chewed up by squirrels.
I have wrapped those hoses with aluminum foil. No more invasion by the squirrel gang, although...
I have a 2018 Jku and my extended warranty is running out in a couple of months. Any thoughts on purchasing a new extended warranty policy or are they a rip off?
All I did was remove the connector (blue) at the top of the tank and at the other end. I did not lower the tank. Parking back wheels on bricks made it easier to get to the top of the tank and work. The connection at the top of the tank was fairly easy to disconnect. Pop up the blue clip, push in...
Well, to change out my squirrel chewed up and spliced Evap tube to the filler neck, I put my JKUs rear tires on bricks and was able to remove the Evap line from the top of the tank and replace the tube with a new Mopar tube. It wasn’t easy but done!
Picture attached of the top of the tank and...
Thanks!
I was hoping that there was a way to unbolt the rear metal cargo area and get to the Evap connectors.
I did cut through my 1979 CJ 7 to access the sending unit.
Dropping the tank is something I want to avoid!
I posted earlier the question about getting to the top of the gas tank where the Evap connectors are without dropping the tank. Can this be done by removing the flooring in the cargo space? I‘m talking about a 2018 Wrangler JKU. Any help would be appreciated!
I answered my own question today when I found the official name of the line.
It’s the : Evap line on fuel filler neck
I ordered one today but will not install until my splice gives way and it throws a code!
Still trying to find out the exact identification of this hose/tube coming off the gas tank that I have spliced and need to buy and replace. This was the squirrel/rat chewing. I’m attaching 2 pictures.
My concern is the decrease in mileage. I totally understand jeeps and their not so good miles per gallon. I drove a 1977 CJ7, 304 V8 for 25 years! I know about Jeep mpg.
No changes! Same gas station. I just can’t figure why the gas mileage is lower. Driving conditions have remained the same. On the freeway and on a trip using the overdrive I get 18-20 at 70 mph. But back in town with the stop and go it’s around 13-14 mpg. Does this seem logical?
I’ve changed nothing. Wheels, tires, gears, etc
I calculate the old fashion way…
I have used the overdrive on freeway and shorter trips.
I did have a problem with squirrels chewing my Evap hoses and having to repair, splice, or replace some!
Are there any settings using the JScan that can increase gas mileage? I have a 2018 JKU with 26,000 miles and it seems to not be getting the 16-18 mpg I was getting a year ago. Now getting 13.5-14.5. Any help would be appreciate.
