HELP ! front driveshaft issues and questions

The second driveshaft has what they call an Rzeppa style CV joint. Whether it fits on your Jeep or not, don’t waste your money on it. As BLACKJKU stated above, you could take your driveshaft to a shop and have it overhauled. It will need to have the bent tube and all the u joints replaced and...

    CV Joint replacement Questuon

The Adam’s driveshaft is good for lifts up to 4 inches. I ordered the Terra Flex Rzeppa joint and after looking it over, sent it back and ordered an Adam’s driveshaft. If you order them from Northridge 4x4, you can use PayPal to spread out the payments. You can also buy one driveshaft at a...

    Selling hard top?

Keep the hardtop. It’s better to have it and not need than to need it and not have it. Even if you leave the soft top on year round, they’re wear items. When the soft top becomes so raggedy that it needs to be replaced, having a hardtop turns the event into an annoyance rather than a crisis...

    Rims, Tires, and lift suggestions

Get the 17 inch rims. 20 inch rims won’t leave enough sidewall height for airing down 35s for off-roading.

How many people with manual transmissions start out by using second gear instead of first gear?

Starting in 2nd from a dead stop requires the clutch to be feathered more, increasing wear of the clutch disc. I use 1st to get the Jeep rolling before shifting to 2nd. I have a Rubicon with 4.10s and 35s. I did the same when it had 33s. When I had an NV4500 five speed, 4.56 gears and 35s in...

    buying used...some questions

On a Jeep with that many klicks, I’d make certain the condition of the driveshafts, axle shafts (particularly the u joints), unit bearings (wheel bearing assemblies) and the brakes. If it’s a manual, replace the inner shift boot. It’s not a matter of if these items need to be addressed, but...

    Clutch replacement 2017 JKU

I had a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch & flywheel installed in my 2012. Very happy with it. The heavier flywheel keeps the Jeep from stalling as easily while crawling at low RPMs.

4.56 too much for 3.8 and manual?

Had 4.56 gears in my XJ with manual transmission, first with 33s, then 35s after the 33s wore out. (Tires were mud terrains.) I drove it everyday and everywhere, including many trips to other states. For awhile, I was commuting between the Grand Canyon and Los Angeles every other weekend so my...

    Overheating at highway speeds

Overheating at highway speeds usually indicates airflow is being blocked or diverted. Airflow can be blocked or diverted by anything mounted in front of the radiator such as winches, lights, grill inserts or stingers. Airflow can be blocked from exiting the engine compartment by aftermarket...

Need advice after JK got rained on with the top off

Don’t close up the Jeep to dry it out. You don’t want to trap the moisture inside. If you can rely on the weather to not rain or have a garage or covered parking, open up your Jeep and set up a shop fan set on high to blow through the interior. Good airflow will speed up the drying process.

What gears will work best with 35s and highway driving?

I have a 2012 Rubicon with the 6 speed manual. When it was on 33s, I felt it was pretty peppy on the highway. The engine was turning about 2750 rpms at 80 mph. The 3.6 loves to spin. Now that it has 35s, rpms are about 2500 at 80. Acceleration in 6th gear is now a little sluggish. If I were...

    2015 JK Engine noise

This is why I suspect it's an exhaust leak. I know you said you searched bu none were found. I couldn't find the leak on my XJ. But replacing the exhaust gasket and re-torquing the manifold bolts after a few miles fixed the problem. Replacing the exhaust gasket is a lot cheaper than a new engine.
