Overheating

Jeep mechanic’s, I have a problem. I have a 2012 Jeep Wrangler sport. 3.6 it all started with no heat. I changed the thermostat, then it started to over heat. So I flushed out the heater coil. Got heat for about 2 days then no heat again. Started to over and no heat so I changed the heater coolant sensor. That helped for about 3 days then started to over heat again. Went and bought a thermostat again. Still over heats. Today I been adding as much antifreeze as it will take I’m using the HOAT that it calls for. So far it’s not over heating. But I have no heat again. Anyone else experience anything like this..

Yes been doing that all day today. It’s barley going over the middle mark now but no heat.

Are you lifting the front of the jeep up when you are doing it? Engine idling?

Yeah I had the front parked upwards on a hill. And engine idle.

Are the heater hoses hot?

Yeah heater hose are hot. The cap is cool tho. Not much pressure while opening the cap either.

Sounds like it may be a bad or plugged heater core. Maybe you are on of the ones that got the casting sands.

It could be the flow control doors in the ducting

The radiator cap isn’t hot and doesn’t have much pressure?

The lower radiator hose than returns to the water pump is hot too?

Have you tried replacing the cap? Easiest/cheapest thing to do if it's not pressurizing.

If it's not pressurized, you basically have a very modest and ineffective flow of coolant thru the system. Like taking a shower in a crappy hotel with little water pressure.
