Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler JK shifters

What did you do to your JK today?

I've replaced about 6, across 3 vehicles in the past 5 years.
Prior to that, I can only remember replacing 1 or 2 in the past 30+ years across probably 30+ cars/trucks.

Started an arm joint rebuild on the rear upper arms. Pretty worn out. No grease was getting into the ball and bushings. It’s a Teraflex long arm set up. Had to make my own bushing compressor.

The saga continues.....

The bumpstops are corroded/rusted in. I did prevail though

EDIT: Passenger side was even better. The bottom popped off and the pipe wrench collapsed it enough that it stopped moving, the top cap locked up too, that was were I put cold water to shrink it. Had to drill 1" holes across the bottom and use a 4' pry bar to move it back and forth. Puppy's were really froze up.

I swapped out my OEM clock spring because I was getting codes P0581 Speed Control Switch 1 Circuit High, P0579 Speed Control Switch 1 Performance, & P0591 Speed Control Switch 2 Performance. The cruise control would go off after a short period of time or when I turned the steering wheel. So far it has corrected the issue.

Hardest part was getting the steering wheel off.

Forge the way! My clock spring is about 5 projects away. How did you get the steering wheel of?

I rented a steering wheel puller from O'Reilly's. However, the soft aluminum on the wheel let one of the pullers pull through. I took a rubber mallet and smacked the back of the wheel with one hand while pulling with the other. IF you do it this way, leave the bolt threaded in so you keep your teeth 😆.

Swapped the wimpy factory horn for the PIAA 85110 dual tone set up. The second horn wouldn't fit in the same area as the OEM, so I moved it off to the side.

Your JK doesn't have a second horn mounted on the fender near the firewall?

No and in my research for a good replacement, everything I saw only indicated the single horn behind the driver headlight.

It runs on the stock power / wires? I’ve heard some horns require a larger wire and more power.
It works fine on the stock wiring. The PIAA instructions just say to tap into the factory wiring to the other horn.

Deleted the spare tire mount. I'm using the Feniex Quad light as primarily the third brake light. When I turn on my POV response lights (VFD), the light will flash blue. The brake light will override the blue light, but when brake is released and the blue lights are active, it goes back to flashing blue.

Does that plate over the vent screw up the heating and A/c flow?

It doesn't completely cover the vent. There is a 1/4" gap between the part the license plate sits on and the vent. It still functions as normal.

I did order a new Mopar vent because the rubber on mine is falling apart. I'll take a picture of how it is tomorrow when I take the plate off to put it on.

New Safelite windshield installed yesterday.
It had a nice collection of rock dings and the sand blasting was pretty evident, but the other morning it was cracked from to top to side right in front of my line of vision.
Went online to Safelite and set up the appointment, they came to me and had it done in less than an hour.
Here's the thing, though, as you're going thru their web app, they ask if it's an insurance job or are you paying out of pocket. So I tried both to see what the difference would be:
If they billed my insurance company: $1000
If I paid out of pocket: $440

Anyone care to guess why insurance rates are so high?
