Today I’m pulling the top half of the engine apart. I have a ticking from the top. Going to replace the rockers and lifters. I’m pretty sure the tick is on the right side (cylinders 1,3,5). Maybe a bad rocker lifter is causing the misfire?
Well the bad rocker was found and replaced. Identified a PCV valve that needs replaced, passenger side. Part ordered so will do that this weekend. Otherwise I’ve driven it about 50 miles since the rocker replaced. No more tick and the check engine light hasn’t returned (yet).
Thats awesome news! I love reading about owners that have success at correcting these types of issues. Especially since there seems to be less and less mechanics willing to go into actual engine repair.
@Shjohn62 "Also, you might find this odd, when i have mt brake fully compressed I can barely feel a vibration in the engine and when I release my brake the hesitation is obvious."
Mine is a 2014 and doing the exact same thing. Only feel it when I let off the brake, in gear, at idle. It did not even throw a cel until I played around with it in a parking lot. I'm thinking vacuum leak. I am curious did you find the cause?
