Hi,

I am wondering if there is a cost effective way for capturing live engine data? I understand the OBD devices that mechanics use cost a couple of grand ($AUD) or something.

Is there a cheaper version that a hobbyist could use ?

This is for a 2015 Wrangler.

Thx in advance.

Jscan App $23.99 and iCarPro dongle $31.99. You won't be sorry!

JScan ftw.

Plus this:

Results in many happy Jeep owners, at least on this board.

The JScan app is really popular around here. I've got it, and it's great. The JScan Website has an entire page devoted to which OBDII dongles it works with. And Amazon will be more than happy to deliver one of those dongles to your door tomorrow. The JScan single VIN option and Vgate ICar Pro combination is about $50 US. That's $78 down under, according to todays exchange rates.

The JScan/VGate is a full function OBDII reader, will capture live data, and is also capable of adjusting many (though not all) vehicle parameters, programming replacement keys, etc.
