JK Rubicon fluids and brake service reality check

Ya, that's the info that I have as well. For years I've used ATF in 2 stroke dirt bike transmissions. Just wondering if there's something better. I found a seller on Amazon that has a 6 pack of Mopar ATF4+ for $50 shipped. It's supposed to be here today. This afternoon will se me in my shop...

JK Rubicon fluids and brake service reality check

It's been an actual record setting winter here in Elko. 4' of snow to date. Been plowing an awful lot with Roxy. It's time to do all the funds. Is ATF the best option for the T case?

    Minimum tire pressures

I'm curious if there's a consensus on minimum tire pressures with non beadwork rims when airing down? We mainly do overlanding trips, but occasionally my stupid self shows up, forcing me to air down. I don't want to pop a bead. I'm sure that there are many factors that play into this decision...

What did you name your jeep?

In '95 we bought a Red '94 XJ for the familly rig. When the kids got old enough to drive, we gave it to each 1 as they all got their licenses. My son was the last and he named her ROXANE. Fast forward to our '97 dark green Tj. She got the name FIONA. Our newer JK has taken on the name ROXY, a...

Jeep wrangler 2008 cold air intake fuel efficient options?

Uh ... no. I've added many CAs. NONE have done anything for mileage. And I didn't start driving differently. But, if that's your opinion...

Jeep wrangler 2008 cold air intake fuel efficient options?

i dont think that they ever increase fuel efficiency. My understanding is that the principle is colder air produces more power.

Replacement protective sleeve for synthetic winch rope

I too thank you. I was hoping to find something that could be wrapped to prevent removing the end piece. I'll need to cut off the worn section eventually, just not quite yet. Something like what they put on the loop of kinetic ropes would work.

Whats the condition of your tires? Cupping or wear? I'd do the ball joints BEFORE the lift.

Relatively new to the Jeep world with transmission issue

IDK about that. I had a 94 Cherokee that lost its CPS at 80K. It was totaled by a different owner at 225K, but never had another CPS issue.

    Heater Core Issues

The various temps at different locations suggest that the problem is NOT the core getting up to temp. Inlet and outlet hoses indicate full temp to the core also.

Meyer HomePlow Basic Snow Plow 23250/31432

My setup is much more basic. I bought a plow that was originally intended for a Polaris side-by-side. It uses the winch on my bumper. Works very well for me . I like the plows that are lightweight in total overall weight. Easier on the front end.

    Roxy, the JK snow plow

I cut that off, welded on some 1/2" black pipe. Also made a "pulley" with a 1" nipple and some fender washers on the sides as guides. Much better, but still a bit of deformation. The next gen had more support. Seems to be working, but I may box it in more later. Stay tuned...

    Roxy, the JK snow plow

My design isn't quite finished. The 1st version I used 1'2" solid rod with a PEX sleeve to let the rope roll on. Well, the solid bar bent. You can clearly see it.

    Roxy, the JK snow plow

Turns out that our winter is more like the "old days" in our area. We've gotten about 2' of snow in the last 2 weeks. So, I've been using the plow quite a bit. my son lives a few miles away, works 12-16 hrs a day and has a 2 month old. i've been not only plowing OUR home, but his as well. And a...

    Roxy, the JK snow plow

A few yrs ago, when we lived in the Idaho Panhandle (Rathdrum), we needed a plow. We have a Honda snowblower, but our drive was just too big for that. At that time we had a TJ with a winch on an aftermarket bumper. I found someone selling a basic 60" plow off of a side by side. Seemed "do-able"...
