What did you do to your JK today?

Got the boy’s new steering gear box and tie rod assembly in today. The right tools sure help the job go smoother. Still have the new radiator to install but he had to go to work. I’m off to spray paint my sister’s ceilings now. I’m getting too old for these long days 😂. Hoping the Graco...

What did you do to your JK today?

It’s certainly doable by yourself. I agree though need a long bar of some sort to get the needed leverage.

What did you do to your JK today?

I can’t say too much as we have a JT. It pulls the camper nicely. Also pulled our son’s JKU on a flatbed Tuesday from Lake Tahoe. It did pretty good but I’m sure it was at the limit for its capacity.

What did you do to your JK today?

That is a good time to go. One time I was putting a suspension lift on the JKU and couldn’t get the right socket to use my 1/2” torque wrench on the driveshaft bolts. It was 8:30 at night headed to HF to get 3/8” only to realize they were closed, then had to go to Lowes’s and picked a...

What did you do to your JK today?

Might always be time, but not the cash 😂. Plus I hate going to the store when I am in the middle of working on something.

What did you do to your JK today?

Dad was up at 7:30, boy didn’t get up till 9:00 then had to cook himself breakfast. Then had to get cleaned up to go to work by 2:00. But managed to get the radiator out, drop the pitman arm and disconnect the power steering lines to the gear box today, not too bad for 3 hours. All together...

    First time JK owner

Welcome to the JK forum. Great people on here. The 3.8 may be a “little” under powers, bright side is it is easier to work on then 3.6 😳. Jeep = Brick and under powered. Enjoy off road.

Took the wife’s JKU (and the LJ) out today on Genoa Peak Road. Peak elevation 9,300 and great views of Lake Tahoe.

What did you do to your JK today?

The boy came up to join us in Tahoe on vacation for a few days. He headed up after work and was supposed to be here around midnight. I went to bed at 11:15, wife comes in at midnight wakes me up says “Zach’s Jeep is overheating”. Off we go, glad he was only about 15 minutes away. Radiator is...

What did you do to your JK today?

Yesterday took the wife’s JKU (and my LJ) on an unplanned trip to Kings Canyon Road and had a great time. Was a lot of fun.

Went in for recalls to be fixed and the dealer tried to get me to pay almost 2k in service

Similar story, took it in for the clockspring and received a message needed new front and rear brakes for $1,200, new steering stabilizer (which was accurate) and something I can’t remember. Said no thank you, I’ll take care of it myself. $1,200 for brakes is ridiculous.

Some have been tight, one seemed loose to me.

    3 thermostats in 6 months

Interesting, part of the issue is I am not sure what the exact symptoms are for a bad torque converter. It seems to drive fine minus the engine temps, again. Usually on a grade, in Tahoe this week and temp hit 245 coming up from Carson City. Keep in mind it is a constant grade from 4800 to...

    3 thermostats in 6 months

I am little late here. The wife’s JKU has been through a few t-stats, none of them OEM though. I have two at home in storage now and looks like I need to replace the t-stat. The others were under warranty and had work done at a local mechanic shop we use. This one I’ll be doing myself. I...
