2008 JK rough idle cannot drive stalls

There is a ground connection that is in a b*tch of place on the passenger side. While you're troubleshooting, I'd inspect this one for breaks/corrosion. This video shows the location:

    Baxter Oil Filter Adapter

That was slightly different, but kind of the same topic with "dry starts". I question specifically whether this mod would make any difference in wear. I agree I don't think anybody's going to spend the money to do the research when they can just make the money by selling the product. Okay...

    Baxter Oil Filter Adapter

No, I mean a control engine with 200k an a test engine with the modified adapter. I'm just curious as to the diffence in wear

    Baxter Oil Filter Adapter

I was thinking the same thing (about leaving the oil film behind). Engine design has to work within cost constraints, so there are likely areas that can be improved, but it seems the cost is high for any real benefit gained. Would like to see empirical evidence, say two identical engines with...

How often do you typically take the hard top off, or AITAH?

I understand the ROI here, but I probably would. That said, it is a PITA when you don't have a good system or place to store it. Sympathies... ;)

Just came across this today... thoughts? Curious what the hive mind has to say.

    Tire air pressure

Chalk test is where you run a line of chalk across the tread of the tire and then drive and see where it wears. You want an even wear. If it wears off in the center more than at the edges, you're still over inflated. I don't recall what the factory settings are, but the placard on your door...

    Notice on Mopar Parts websites

Just saw this on https://www.moparpartsgiant.com/ "Orders placed on or after Sept. 14, 2023 may experience shipping delays due to the United Auto Workers (UAW) Union's potential strike at Mopar. To avoid any possible delays, please check out the shopping cart at your earliest convenience." Not...

Picking up this beauty at 4:30 today

Outstanding! I've missed out on several over the years, and they aren't getting easier to find... IIRC, it's "technically" still a TJ just a TJ unlimited since LJ was never an official designation - just like JK & JK Unlimited. But everyone knows it's a Teej. :) Have you spent time on the TJ...

    Faded bumpers and flares.

Sahara's have the color matched ones. Find new or used and re-paint? Could even paint them satin black, if you like the contrast. I've used Mothers Back to Black, Forever Black, Solution Finish, Aerospace 303, heat gun... None last really long in my experience. Mothers isn't bad or very...

What did you do to your JK today?

Installed new-style door seals to combat footwell puddles. I get enough Lake effect snow, I don't need Lake effect in my Jeep, too. Old New

So the Bronco guys can point and say "look at the doofus that can't start his Jeep" ;)

    JK Pre-Start Oil Trick

I do agree with you. Reflecting on this, the only argument I can see rationalizing this is that doing this turns it over for a few seconds at a lower rpm than when it actually fires. ??? So this is more likely along the lines of Lettermans old "stupid pet tricks" ;)

    JK Pre-Start Oil Trick

Anyone else know about this? Am I late to the party? I just came across this video. Basically, if you hold the skinny pedal down while cranking, the engine won't fire but it the oil WILL prime. Release the ignition, release the pedal and then crank as normal and engine starts. Down side is...

    Fender lights to turn signals

Not possible using jscan. You can rewire things if you have stock lights. If you have LED's, you'll need to use something like blinker genie https://www.customled.com/products/blinker-genie-2
