What did you do to your JK today?

Replaced the windshield and the cheap Amazon LED lights with some KC headlights that I got a great deal on. View attachment 120949
I need to replace the windshield in our '15 Rubicon. Care to share where you found an OEM version w/ the little Jeep and the grille? Did you do it yourself, or have it done?
Last question; do you mind sharing a cost for reference?

I had it done professionally. They waived my $100 deductible, so it didn't cost me anything. When I asked how much they said If I was paying out of pocket it would have been $261 and if I wanted the OEM window it would have been about $380.

Finally got time to mount my tires by hand. 37x12.50r17 Ironman M/T tires on 17×10 Bawarrion beadlocks. Took me about 3.5 hours to do all 5. Threw in a bag of beads to balance each wheel. Can't wait till the lift gets here!

Those beads really work? Or do they work fine, but it's better to get the tires balanced if you can?

This is my 1st set of beadlocks so I can't really answer that question. I couldn't pass up the price for all 5 wheels which why i got them. I've been using balance beads for years now and always got a lot miles on my tires. My last set of M/T tires had over 89,000 miles on them. They mostly saw asphalt with the occasional weekend trails. Before them, I had a set of Thornbirds and got around 75,000 miles out of them. The beads are constantly balancing. Even if you loose a chunk of tread the beads will still balance the tire.

You aren’t kidding! I never had death wobble, but it definitely wasn’t tracking right on the road and I had the steering wheel vibration. Last night I went 75 on the freeway and drove with one finger!

It’s funny, my girlfriend said “I didn’t know I was dating a hockey player” 😂😂

Missed a great chance to tell her the first rule of Fight Club 😂

Installed Redrock neoprene seat and console cover. I had a local embroidery shop stitch "Jeep" on the front seat covers and I added the peace sign patch myself 🍻

That looks great! Also, good on you putting the fire extinguisher where you can get to it. Can you get to it with the door closed where it's mounted?

Mine is mounted to the back of the passenger seat with molle so that it's easy to reach over and grab. I figured that's a lot better than the rear roll bar. Always wondered why people keep em in the back.

Thanks. I cannot get to it when the door is closed. I think its a better spot then the rear of the Jeep.

Yep. I had tried putting one there and figured a side impact would make it too hard to get to if I needed it.

Got a hard molle panel on the back passenger seat kind of behind the center console area. Unless I'm AFU or the Jeep turns into a crushed cube I can get to it pretty easy.

Generally you are expecting the engine to be on fire, the farther away you are from that the better. Though I agree that generally, the way I see them placed on the rear of the roll cage seems harder to access than I would be comfortable with.

Right on the inside of the rear gate I think would be better, for safety anyway. Though there is no perfect place. I do like the back of the front seat idea.

Buddy's truck just went up in flames. He was coming out of a gas station and saw flames under the front. Pulled his chainsaw out of the bed and stayed clear. Opening the hood to try and save it possibly would have ended his life. Your rig isn't worth your life. That is why we have insurance.

I agree, but also wouldn't want to be stuck inside with it on fire either. Having one in easy reach and safely secured is a good idea imho.

While I wouldn't want to open a hood, I've got plenty of places to jam a hose in and squeeze if I caught it fast enough. Once it's going though, yeah I'd step back too.

For full disclosure, and for those who might think it's overkill, I lived for many decades without needing to use a fire extinguisher (other than in the military). We recently had a large grease fire get out of control in our kitchen though, and if I hadn't had quick access to an extinguisher we'd probably have lost the house.

Within the 15-20 sec it took me to hear the screaming, get to the kitchen and dump the extinguisher, it was already up the wall and into the cabinets.
