95% sure my starter went bad on my 2008 Jk and trying to take it out to get tested. 2 Bolts and nut on wiring came out fine but now the entire starter is glued to its housing and wont budge. Most presumably from rust build up. Any advice how to get it out myself before I take it to a shop?

You have a rubber mallet you could hit it on the end from the bottom of the starter?

You see this video?

A tip I’ve gotten a lot actually and sadly no prevail. Not much room to work with down below without a lift or anything and smacking it didn’t seem to make it budge. Could try again though... more force...

thanks

The pictures of a new starter it looks like there is 3 bolts holding it on.

From what I saw it looked just like the video linked. Just 2 bolts and that top nut. I can look around again but pretty confident I wasn’t missing any?

I just looked at video again and counted 3 threaded holes in the starter both new and old one.

Three holes only two bolts.( Mechanical Porn) Did you try hitting it from the top or bottom with a mallet and a long piece of would to free it?
