I just had an AEV 2.5" DualSport XT Suspension System lift installed and now the installer is saying I need a new drag link to center my steering wheel? I am just checking to make sure this is something that is necessary?
Yes a adjustable front and rear track bar will be needed to center the axles up under the Jeep and a adjustable drag link to center the steering wheel. If your steering wheel isn't centered your ESP light will come on and your Jeep will think your sliding on snow or ice and do it's thing.
There isn't enough adjustment with the OEM link? This is the kit I've been been looking at and it's the first I've heard of this requirement. Maybe it depends on model year, however?

I’ve installed three 2.5” lifts, two on 2015 JKU and one on 2017 JK. Never needed any additional parts. Everything needed was included in the kit. Have them installed between 2-4 years depending on the Jeep and haven’t had any issues.
@smokeyma48 if the OEM link is damaged or corroded to the point it can't be rotated it's a reasonable request from your installer. If they are saying you need something different than OEM I would question it.

This depends on additional things like tire size. The lift increases the distance between the steering arm end of the drag link and the wheel end. You should be able to inspect the drag link and determine whether there's any adjustment left, or if it has been adjusted recently. When you see a pickup driving kind of crabbed so the front end is left of the rear, the draglink is usually the cause. A bent d-l can also cause that kind of crooked posture, and if the adjustment was used up correcting a bend, then you actually might need one. You can always check with another mechanic.
