My dream was to buy my dream (jeep wrangler) if I could get through a year of my chemo. I bought the jeep. So excited, but I was sold it with the wrong size tires and there's no lift on it, it has 33" and I am told by a mechanic that it's hitting on the sway bar, I realize I have so much to learn. I will be buying the right size tires for it, but can anyone recommend a tire that handles well for the rainy season, good with being fuel efficient and light off road.

Welcome. I currently have 255/75R17 BFG K03 A/Ts (~32") and they have been a good all around tire. When it comes time for new tires I'll probably look at Falken Wildpeaks, too ..

Welcome to the forum! We lived in Florence, Arizona for the past 4 years up until we moved recently.

Is there much of a rainy season in Arizona? I know there's summer monsoons but those aren't enough to warrant a rain tire.

I'd stick with a good A/T tire like the KO2 or KO3.

I agree, but after my car was totaled on a Rd I have to travel often, I still panic in the little rain we get, I noticed hydroplaning when I drove in the last rain we had. I will look into the KO2 and 3. Thank you, Florence is a great little town, I miss it, we lived there quite a few years.

Thank you guys for the tire type info. Now another crazy tire question . Any recommendations on a good website to sell tires on? I have 4 new tires and 3 like new tires I am trying to sell.

You're likely driving WAY too fast for the road conditions then... I lived in AZ for 16 years but am back in the east now. I drive on wet and snowy roads 1/2 the year and there is no appreciable hydroplaning even with M/T tires at proper speeds.

It was on the 87, it's 65 mph and I get people mad because I never get near the posted speed limit. I think I was going a little over 50 when I started to hydroplane. I been in az for 24 years, I'm originally from Illinois, I sure miss the seasons

What pressure are you running them at? Is your alignment okay? Something seems way off if you're hydroplaning on a relatively innocuous stretch of road at modest speeds. I ran 87 for years without issue on some of the worst (in the rain) M/T tires you can think of.

And to be clear, when you're talking about hydroplaning, you're referring to where one (or both) of the axles continue with momentum, rather than reacting to steering input, or alternatively, where the back-end wants to become the front-end? Did you ABS/Traction engage?
