Every other vehicle I have has bright lighting of the panel during the day that dims when you turn on the lights is this a defect in my vehicle or is it just a JK defect?

The dash lights are not illuminated.

My Jeep is a Canadian model with the DRL's and I have no dash lights unless I turn the lights on with the switch.
