Brake pedal vibration

did you make sure that code isn't stuck in your scanner and erasing all codes your scanner has stored in it? Also just for the he'll of it hook your scanner too another vehicle and see if that code pops up
I don’t think it’s stuck. It goes away when I clear it. It just comes back on rescan.

For good measure had my husband ground it in case I was doing something stupid. Code still there.

I haven’t tried to “restart all ecus” in JScan yet.

The B2204 error on JScan says “ecu configuration mismatch.”

When I open “restart all ECUs,” the target box is blank. There are two options to choose: All modules- power on restart and then Non Volatile Memory Restart. I don’t want to mess anything up. Should I do something there?

Or pull the PCM fuse and try to reset there?

I would pull the pcm

I would pull the pcm
Pulled the PCM fuse for 2 minutes (yes, the correct one). Ran JScan. Cleared codes. Ran again. Still there. Tried 2 OBD modules. Same thing.

Screenshot of the error code and screen shot of what I see when I go to restart all ECUs.

New front and rear track bars
New tie rods
New ball joints
New rear brake pads
New front and rear wheel speed sensors
New front rotors, calipers, brake pads
New front wheel bearings
Upgraded front brake lines
4 new shocks (Fox 2.0)
Upgraded sway bar links
All these actions were done after the issue already had started occurring? Just trying to build a better timeline in my head.

When I first read your initial post I was thinking that if you upgraded shocks and the Fox's are significantly softer than the RC maybe something was happening with the stability control. For instance, aggressive braking will unload the rear and load the front - it will never be completely equal side to side. If there is too much variance the stability control may try to correct. Idk, just trying to think through every possiblity. Also assuming you don't feel anything in the steering wheel??

I think @vaffanculo has the TPMS root cause train of thought handled so maybe you will find something there... 🤞

Here is what was done a couple months before the issue started. I haven’t drawn any correlations, since there was a pretty good amount of time between this work and the vibration. The work was done by a reputable 4x4 shop I trust:

New front and rear track bars
New tie rods
New ball joints
New rear brake pads

This was done trying to resolve the braking issue:

New front and rear wheel speed sensors
New front rotors, calipers, brake pads
New front wheel bearings
Upgraded front brake lines

The shocks and sway bar links were done after the track bars (et. al). I can’t remember when the issue started in correlation. It was so infrequent for months I didn’t think much of it. Only in the last 2 months or so I’d say it’s gotten worse and now happens every time I drive.

No. We just replaced all 4 with new ones. Issues happened before that and still do. No change. We were hoping that was the cause of the pedal vibration.
This is mind boggling. We know something is causing this issue in a wheel sensor, abs sensor and the tpms...something is not syncing right causing the brake pedal to vibrate .just a stupid question, are all the tires the exact same size and same tread? Also when your driving along is there any vibration at the steering wheel if you let go? Also if your driving in a straight line and you hit the brakes is the jeep wandering to one side or the other or a pulling sesention? Another thing came to mind ,try driving with your traction control on and see if the pedal vibrates and also try it with the 4 wheel drive on and see if the pedal vibrates...

Good reply
This may actually be the right direction. A few months ago, I had a random week it didn't happen. It was right after a friend shut all my TMPS stuff off because I was running my tires low, and the light was on. I wanted to know my tire pressure, so I turned it back on. Some other adjustments happened that same day and a few days later during that time, so I didn't make a connection. I'll try it after work and let you know.

But if it resolves the issue, it doesn't fix the problem, especially since we just replaced all four wheel speed sensors (and this issue was before and after). I know the wiring ends/harnesses on the rear are good. I can see them clearly. I'll try to take a closer look at the fronts later.

Thanks, everyone. Fingers crossed.

Hopefully it stops the vibrating pedal because it works hand in hand . If the sensors are working in sync the computer will try to change up the wheel speed

Even though it’s not been that long since my last rotate/balance/align, I’m going to do that again and hope for the best. I talked to a local tech and he thinks if that doesn’t work and the ECU won’t clear, I may need a new WCM and reprogramming. Let’s hope it’s not that.

Thanks for everyone’s thoughts. I’ll update after the next round of tries.
