Better airflow grille

This grille pops up on a few of my death scroll reels. It’s out of stock and I realize it’s probably not well made. But I like the enhanced air flow possibility. I am very against the “angry eye” look (no offense to anyone who has one installed). Any other options that might be close to stock looking with better air flow? I’m open to ideas.

yeah dude the stock grille sucks for cooling. i went with an angry eyes setup on my hemi and it flows way better. plus looks way meaner lol. heard good things about the poison spyder grille too if you want something more subtle. depends if you're actually wheeling hard or just want it to look cool tho

I like the stock look but want more flow. Do you have a link to the poison spyder grille? I did not see one on there sight.

Interesting but when wheeling, it runs cool. Even Rock crawling it stays cool. It’s at freeway speeds that I have a problem. It’s better now but I like under 200f

Not many aftermarket grilles I like tbh, but I kind of dig this one. It takes on the JL look:

I like that look too. Where can I get one? That may be the one I have been looking at, I had not noticed the side view of it sticking out a little.

My warn poweplant sits close to the grille. I have to pull the air compressor cover to get the grille off. Do you think the grille's profile extends out from the front more than a stock JK grille?

I think it is the same grille. Here is a slight side view and I can see the bend/curve on the slats close the same location as the one you posted.

That was one of the customer pics from the Sunpie website for the grille you originally posted.

Gonna have to find a new place for the turn signals.

E: Since we're on the subject of conversion grilles, I wish someone made a TJ style grille for the JK, I've never seen that.

This is often an air damming issue and not something I'd expect a simply grill swap to remedy... What are you running for radiator and fan setup? Do you have all your dam panels in place?

That said, no modern Hemi likes to run under 200°F :)

I’m running twin brushed 12” fans on an aluminum radiator. I have replaced (repaired) the dams on three sides using kydex (thermo plastic) molded to create a good air funnel/guide. I also installed two hood louvers on the hood. All this has helped but I’m after that last bit of thermal soak. On trails it’s been fine. Usually runs 200-210 f. Trans temps are under 190f and engine oil usually runs about 10 degrees above coolant temp. On the freeway going up grades, it hits 225f pretty fast, once I’m on the downhill side, temps drop just as fast.

As a follow up, what is too hot for a modern (2009) 5.7 hemi? What is “normal” operating temperature?
