Is this stock for an '08 JK Sahara?

Doesn't look like it to me, especially with the zip ties & worm clamps. My '08 didn't come with one, so I added it.

I'm going to be replacing the radiator in a couple of days so I thought I would look things over. Seeing the zip ties and clamps, (PO added it on) that was my thinking when I saw it hanging there.

No, it's not. We have a 2010 and it did not have a trans cooler. It does now though!

Sounds like adding and oil cooler to the 3.8 engine is more common then I was aware of.

I don't have one on my 09, but it's a manual, and this time of year I need the fluid warm, not cooled down.

The autos for the 3.8 should have come with one, but they didn't

Guess I am being lazy, how much does an oil cooler cost? How simple / difficult are they to install? Maybe my son should considered putting one in.

Around $300 to $350 in price. Plenty of install vids on YouTube . Doesn’t look too hard.

Is not bad, and I definitely recommend one if you have an 07-11 42RLE auto and you drive it more aggressively than an ordinary grocery getter. I bought a B&M, IIRC. Not a hard install at all.

You can get them for $30 for very small universal ones. I stuck one on a CRV I used to have and it helped immensely.
