Any opinions or reviews on upgrading to the Gorilla glass windshield?

I need to replace my windshield after a mishap with a longboard.
Considering the Gorilla glass version, but it is significantly more $$ than the factory version.
Anyone do this that might have insight, opinions, or such?

I have never tried one. But with a JK windshield available for $200, it's pretty tough to justify the $700 cost. Especially since most insurance will cover windshields at little or no cost. It would have to be literally bulletproof, for me.

Insurance deductible is greater than the cost of the glass, so I'm out of pocket on this one anyway (at least until my brother-in-law ponies up the replacement cost).
I'll gladly pay the difference between the two versions IF there is any justification in doing so.
I'm still pending feedback on availability.

BTW, the $200 version is pure junk, and not going in my vehicle; poor fit, no tint at the top, thin glass, the list goes on...

Sounds like you already made your decision 🤔

Not at all.
The $200 one is aftermarket, Chinese junk.
The factory style (with the grille emblem and the tiny little jeep in the bottom corner) costs about $400 (from my source) & the Gorilla glass version is about $600 from the same source.

I'll spend $200 more if it is worthwhile; no different than spending $400 for the factory version instead of $200 for the knockoff.

I first heard of the gorilla glass windshield on Lite Brite’s
UTube channel . They had a problem cracking glass with some of the wheeling they do.
Haven’t had a crack since going with the G G.
But wow $700 US is $961 CDN . Quite a bit for a windshield . Didnt know they were that expensive . Think when I replace mine will go with factory again . Tough to justify the price . Cause as @Dirty Dog mentioned it’s not bullet proof . Could still get a crack or chip . No gaurentees on this one .
