Hello, I know there was a thread in 2023 for this, but the units are no longer available so wondering if anyone has any current solutions to installing a Backup Camera on a 2015 JK? Thanks ahead of time! (And we are not too tech savvy!) We still have the original factory installed system.

I went with the Brandmotion from Crutchfield. I think it was this one which includes the adapter for the factory radio. I used Jscan for the programming. They were great with troubleshooting a few issues, including a bad adapter harness:

Hello, I purchased a cam off Amazon for less than 20 as the touchscreen resolution is not great anyway, I had the J Scan already and then mounted the camera in spare tire center hub cap. Easy install and there are many inexpensive mounting solutions.

Ah, and for power, I used a "key on" positive from the passenger side tail light, and poked a hole through the grommet for the wire to go through.

Good luck!

I ordered one thru Best Buy and letting them install it along with 4000 series Sony stereo and Alpine speakers. They say the bracket fits behind spare tire and the camera looks thru the top spoke in the wheel. Camera is made by I-beam and has parking lines in it. Let you know how it looks after i get it installed in a week or so.

I think there would have to be key on power to the tail lights .
Hazard Lights , turn signal , brakes , running lights etc

I’ve wired a lot of things in the past, including many Jeeps, hot rods and muscle cars - lights are almost universally switched power.

Now I’m gonna have to check the wiring diagrams out of curiosity…

For mine I used the power feed for the reverse light from the passenger side taillight.
Yeah that's pretty common and what I do for people that just want a simple backup camera. When I did mine, I ran a feed to the Acc wire of the radio so that I could use the rear camera any time I wanted (and not just in reverse).
