Maybe if it did get wet in a couple days it could dry out and start working.

That's why I made long ago the decision to keep the roof on.

Don't cheap on the clockspring. It is essential in airbag deployment and I've heard that some off brand clocksprings are not 100% reliable.

Perhaps someone else can speak to this?

If it's like every other electrical thing on these JK's they don't work or last long if it's not OEM.
