Hey everyone! I’ve been a reader for years and have finally found the problem that has driven me to write a post. Just yesterday I was left stranded with no start. Here are the symptoms

turn the key, ACC works, radio, dash, all lights come on like normal. When I turn the key to start nothing happens, not even a click.

After reading some posts I now have replaced the ignition switch, starter, starter relay. I had the battery tested and she’s full with 12.6 volts.

I began to think it was the clutch switch (6 speed manual trans) so bypassed the clutch switch and connected the yellow wire with red line to ground... nothing. Even tried starting in 4 low... nothing.

any ideas are much appreciated thank you!!!

Knowing these Jeeps there might be a fuse also, was the Relay in the TIPM that you replaced? Can you jump the starter at the starter and make it work?

The relay was in the TIPM box. I have gone through each and every fuse in the TIPM as well, nothing blown. Is there another place I should be looking? If I hook power directly to starter it will work.

Do you have a small red light on in the upper right corner of the instrument panel? Also read this especially Step 4.

Thank you for the help @BLACKJKU
The security light turns on when key is initially inserted and turned however it turns off like it normally does...

that post is extremely detailed and helpful, removing that fuse for a few minutes then pressing it back down and tried to start... nothing. $@%@&

My security light never turns on, so i'll bet that is your problem. Is your battery good in your key Fob?

YOU MY FRIEND DESERVE MANY FRIDAY BEERS. @BLACKJKU I brought out the spare key and what do you know... she fires right up!! Quite Literally am at a loss of words for appreciation. Now one final question. Does this mean the battery in the key needs replacement or the WCM?

My guess it's the battery in the key needs a new one since your spare works. I thought it was kinda weird the Safety bypass and 4 low didn't work. Then I dawned on me about the light.

It's a good thing for you I work cheaper then the Dealer!!! LOL

Hahaha right!
I would’ve never been able to figure that out. I hope this helps someone else stumped by the wonderful idea of computers in cars. Thank you again Chris!

I guess I can call today a day of preventative maintenance with the new starter and ignition switch. Cheers!

How was it that you happened to join this Forum the best Jeep Forum on the Web? Or were you joining all of them to get your Jeep fixed?

I posted on here and Jk-forum both of which have helped me in the past and found the most useful information earlier today. I’ll be sure to post this conversation link in the other one... which has yet to get a response. I know where to turn to from now on.

We don't fix them all but do try our best, good to have you aboard. Post up a build Thread and tell us about your JK we like picture porn.
