Did he run a leak down test? The primary cylinder head issue is high valve seat recession on the driver's side head. If this is advanced enough to cause an issue the leak-down test would show it.

You could drain the oil and refill with a heavier weight and see if that changes or eliminates the tick.

So this essentially means everything around it all got wet, correct? I wouldn't rule out a wire harness issue, however, my guess would be that you have some corrosion on the head unit circuit board. It's tripping a circuit and shutting off and then resets when you remove power.

Well stated. The other factor is the timing from the seller. If there is no urgency to sell you can price it higher and wait for the "right" buyer.
