    Hard top damage

Just as an example this guy has a JKU hardtop for $800. I realize you are not close but I would start scanning FB Marketplace locally: And another for $700:

    should I get involved?

Thanks for the added info! I have a bit different viewpoint, now, knowing it would not be a primary vehicle. I throw this into the project/toy vehicle category and as long as you like a good project (who doesn't on this forum..) and would enjoy the journey than its probably a reasonable...

    should I get involved?

Curious what he hit that did that damage but didn't fire the airbag? You say you can get a good deal but what are you basing that on? You can "nickel and dime" yourself way passed the value of buying an equivalent unmolested vehicle. Bolting on a bunch of replacement parts is probably only...

    Best gear brand to use

The formula is nothing more than a ratio... 35/31.5 * 3.21 = 3.57 That doesn't account for the increased weight/inertia of the heavier tires, however. That also just gets you back to the lowest numerical OEM gear with OEM tire size. If you started with a 3.73 from the factory you would...

    Hard top damage

Agree with @Snowbird Tom that it should be fixable but it may be cheaper to find a used one. You may be able to sell yours as-is as well and recoup some of the cost.

    Run2jeepn's JKU Build

Yeah I don't think any make is immune to issues these days... Even some of the OEM Warn applications have experienced issues. Thanks for the describing your other considerations. I read a bit more about the X-Bull and didn't catch that it was a 2-speed at first. I can see that being a...

    Run2jeepn's JKU Build

Can you expound upon your decision criteria and final decision? I'll be getting one eventually and have looked at Warn VR EVO, Badlands, etc... I've heard of the X-Bull but don't know much about them. Thx

    Valve cover bolt snapped

It happens to the best of us! Where did the bolt break? If the break is above the cover rail on the head I would attempt backing it out the way it went in... It also depends on how the fracture looks. You don't want to try to pull it through the bottom and muck up the threads in the...

2012 Wrangler Harsh Downshift and Occasional Stall when Shifted into Reverse

Thanks! It's a breath of fresh air to see someone post both a problem AND solution in their first post. Welcome to the forum!

P0303 engine code on 2008 Wrangler JKU

This would lead me to believe it's either airflow choked somewhere and your loading up on fuel or a closed loop sensor is bad. You stated you replaced the O2 sensors already... Does the 3.8 have a mass air flow meter? I'm not real familiar with that engine.

    Back Up Camera

I have a 2016 with the OEM head unit. I went with an IR Brandmotion from Crutchfield. I used JScan to activate the feature on the head unit vs.purchasing their module. It was much less expensive that way... Works great, no complaints with it at all.

    Easy Bikini Top

I think that may be for some other RedRock product - just a misplaced review as often happens. This one looks to be same as the Bestop one for $105. There are others on the market as well... You can look thru the XT or Quadratec sites.

Rear Locker (To Be, or Not to Be)

This is only supposition on my part to understand why it would cause an issue... possibly the expected wheel speed differential from side to side would cause a fault with the ESC algorithm? For a vehicle with the LSD it would be factored in, but a mechanical locker, once engaged, would never...

Rear Locker (To Be, or Not to Be)

The more I've thought about this I can get my head around it, assuming it's a mechanical locker that can't be disengaged. I think the difference with the Rubi's is they can only be engaged in 4lo. My assumption - and it's just that - is that you could install a switchable locker on a...

    Soft top

Since you have experience with this... About how long does it take to fold it up or down when you make the decision to do one or the other? Let's say driving with the soft top up to driving with it folded down - is that 5min, 10min, other? Thanks!

Hard Top Buddy (or similar): who has one?

I received mine and assembled it... I'll start a new thread once I actually use it for its intended purpose.
