    Jeep stalling at stops

So when it restarts in Park it stays running but the trans doesn't shift to drive? Just want to ensure I'm understanding this correctly. The problem sounds electrical to me. Possibly a faulty transmission range sensor (or whatever it's called - neutral safety switch, etc)? This is what...

2008 JKU "Argenta" Build Thread (plus an Islander side project)

If he already has some performance parts you should be making more than that. The crate motor specs as-is are 383/417

2008 JKU "Argenta" Build Thread (plus an Islander side project)

Most of the time I feel like the trans is the only part of the JL I really envy. Then, of course, like any sane motorhead, I start going down the rabbit hole. I can swap in an 8spd, but if I do that I might as well do an engine swap, and that might as well be a 5.7. Then I should upgrade...

    Oil pressure sensor

Or an internal leak path somewhere that's bleeding off pressure. Bearing, crack, bad device (tensioner, hla, etc).

2008 JKU "Argenta" Build Thread (plus an Islander side project)

Man I love those rubber wheels! Long ago I had to remove decals from a cargo van I purchased. That made quick work of it. I've found numerous uses for it since that time. Just not on any softer plastic unless you have a really soft touch!

    Openroad winch experiences?

Agree with this. "Kit" is a good way to put it. Short story is that you need more than just the winch. If you're looking to save a buck you may consider a Harbor Freight Badlands. Imo probably no better or worse than most of what's out there, but I've found their customer...

Looking for opinions on potential JKU purchase

Welcome. Looks like a nice ride at a decent price considering it's from a dealer. Just throwing out an idea for you. When I bought mine I negotiated with the selling dealer to have both compression and leak down test completed as a part of the sale contingency. The 3.6 has several...

    Winch capable factory front bumper

Here's how mine looks (2016) as I received it. I've never taken the vertical or top covers off but obviously they're removable for winch installation.

What did you do to your JK today?

I have the essentially the same fabric on my truck tonneau. When I first got it I thought it would be harder to maintain but it's the opposite. It really releases dirt easily. When I first put the soft top on I power washed it (water only, no soap) and it looks like new.

What did you do to your JK today?

After performing my "test" this Summer with a well used, standard fabric soft top, I upgraded. I scored a lightly used factory black twill top for $200. I had to drive to get it, probably burning $100 in gas, but it was worth it. The twill doesn't look much different in pics but in person...

    Rust in rear wheel well

This has been my strategy as well with a decent rattle can paint. It works remarkably well, imo, and doesn't come with the issues of other coatings.

    Stock Spare Tire Carrier

Lots of people run 285/70R17s without issue. However, I'm sure it depends on use case. Lots of off road usage and I would look at a mount upgrade. Street only, you'll be fine with OEM.

What did you do to your JK today?

I find that, most of the time, things work out the way they are supposed to. You may have not been thinking of selling, but it sounds like it came together at the perfect time! I wish you all the best going forward.

2012 Pentastar Noises on Started With Jasper Remanufactured Engine

I'll play the Devil's Advocate role on this one. I'm still trying to find the root cause of my noise. New Gates belt, idlers, and tensioner didn't solve it, even though one idler had a bad bearing. I have yet to find it with the stethoscope. My suggestion would be to not throw parts at...

Buying first Jeep on Friday! Lots of questions

That is the situation we face in SE Michigan every year. We could have 6" of fresh snow (could be light or heavy/wet), hard pack, ice, slush, or a combination. My favorite is when we get our typical temp swings. 3-4" of fresh snow, followed by above freezing temps, followed by another fresh...
