    Regearing 4:56 vs 4:88

Going to an 8spd will to certain extent. Just look at the gear ratios in the first 5 gears for an apples-apples comparison: Mechanical advantage improvement is as follows: 1st: 131% 2nd: 143% 3rd: 149% 4th: 167% 5th: 155% Average is 149%. An 8spd w/ 3.73 FDR would be roughly comparable to...

    Regearing 4:56 vs 4:88

This is the root of my dilemma to be brutally honest. By the time I do what I want to my JK I would be better off, financially, waiting for a few years for used JL with the XR package to reduce in price a bit more. There are things I like better with the JK, however. 🤷🏻 We're about ready...

    Regearing 4:56 vs 4:88

Yeah totally agree. No shade meant towards ATS it definitely looks like a well thought out swap. I always take a "value" approach to my upgrades accounting for my willingness to what I can as a part of the journey. 😉

    Regearing 4:56 vs 4:88

Yeah looks like the Jeep Speed shop swap is a lot more affordable. I was looking at the ATS swap and that was $9600! 😲

    Regearing 4:56 vs 4:88

If I had a major problem with my 5spd I would consider an 8spd upgrade knowing that it would probably be ~$10k. Of course it's easy to spend money before I'm actually at the point that I would have to write the proverbial check! 😉

    Regearing 4:56 vs 4:88

Let me throw another fact out here for discussion. The JL Wranglers with an 8 spd auto and factory 35s (315/70R17) have a 4.56 final drive. OEM gears are typically a best fit to balance all use cases, fuel economy, etc. A big difference, however, is that the 8spd has a 4.71 first gear...

    Regearing 4:56 vs 4:88

    Here are the gear ratios for the 5spd auto. As you can see 5th is indeed an overdrive as @pc1p stated: 1st (3.59), 2nd (2.19), 3rd (1.41), 4th (1.00), and 5th (0.83)

    Squeal from front of 3.6L

Unfortunately, no. I've been living with it as an annoyance, although fortunately, it's not my primary vehicle. Outside of this forum I've had others swear they had the same sound and _____ fixed it (choose one): Belt Idlers Tensioner Alternator Water Pump A/C Compressor Crank Pulley PCV...

What did you do to your JK today?

What did you end up going with for the lift? How about wheel spacers? Looking great!

What did you do to your JK today?

That's not my Jeep, just one I found that had the tire/wheel package I may go to in the future. It helps that it's a black JK with the 75th Anniversary package as it looks just like mine!

Nice! For reference, this is the factory wheel with 35s:

@Flipx99 have a pic of your Jeep you can post? I also have the 75th Anniversary package and am leaning towards keeping the wheels.

What did you do to your JK today?

My nephew was just in an accident during one of our recent snowstorms. Someone tagged him from the rear at a decent clip. 2016 2Dr w/hardtop, lift, 35s. Insurance totalled it due to the frame damage and gave him ~$18k which I thought was pretty generous!

What did you do to your JK today?

That used to be true but I thought that the business now has to show some revenue? I haven't looked into this for years, though, so maybe it has reverted back to simpler times??

Has anyone installed JL brakes on a JK?

I was thinking the same thing.

I've debated getting a set for my truck. I've had the same feedback from people who have actually used them - nothing but positives.

The battle against the dreaded P0300

I replied in your other thread so won't repeat myself here other than to say lean bank 2 is consistent with the valve seat recession issue on these engines. Post in thread 'The Crna Utra JKU from Aus' https://wranglerjkforum.net/threads/the-crna-utra-jku-from-aus.32797/post-472198
