Heya folks.

My 2015 Hard Rock project continues. I really need to get some pictures up here and share the story, but that has to wait.

So, I have my winch installed, and would like to add a bull bar over it to protect and for aesthetic reasons, but the ones I'm seeing around are way more than I'm willing to spend.
Of course there are a bunch more options for the JL as is the way things go these days... and to think it only has a year or two left before the... JM? I hope they don't call it the Jim.

Regardless, I've seen mention that the JL bull bars have the same bolt pattern as the JK steel bumper. Can any one verify this? I know the JL and JK front bumpers are interchangeable with regard to frame mounting points, but I can't get anything definitive about bull bars, just off hand mentions or listings that I don't trust.

Someone on these forums must have both.

This is the RockHard bar for a JK. It was ~$150 when I purchased it last year:

Awesome thank you. Not only for the suggestion, but when I went to the northridge4x4 website, I found they had their JL/JT version there as well. Both had pictures of the mounting points for the steel bumpers, showing to me that they are not the same.

That at least frees me up to investigate in the correct direction. Though I am quite impressed with your suggestion and will probably go with that.

BTW, is your bumper something of a khaki / green color or is it just a strange play of the light / camera?

It's supposed to be a light bronze for the 75 Anniversary package but it does take on a khaki-ish hue at times. Grille, wheels, bumpers, and some interior trim. Here is a bit better pic:

Now that you say bronze I can see it. My jeep is copper brown, so I tend to have that on my mind.

The front half doors are the current project. Just finished them today. Well, except for the electrical. Sort of on the hunt for rear doors now, but I need to refill the coffers.

Great color! I don't think I have seen that before.
