So I put the old coolant temp sensor back in, put yet another thermostat (third in a year) in and the went through the bleeding process again. Drove at highway speeds for 30 minutes and didn't even get hot enough for the fan to kick on. The code was still in so I did the key dance as stated...

Ok I thought it sent a signal to open. It's just showing the temp to the gauge. Thanks.

Now that I'm getting that engine light I can't really test anything. I'm sure that's keeping my thermostat from opening

Yes, the front end is up on the driveway and the back is off of it. It's about 7" difference. And yes cap is off

Now my Jeep is throwing a code after changing the Coolant Temp Sensor. Of course the thermostat isn't opening now because of this. What next?? I don't have a code reader

Going home this evening and changing the thermostat, the coolant temp sensor and going to flush the cooling system. After all this I am going to refill and purge the system again. Fingers crossed!! Will update later.

Another thing to note is that when I do a cold start the temp gauge climbs to almost halfway only a mile or so down the road.

I purged mine last night while it was running with heat on high. and left some level in the funnel overnight with the engine off of course. It drank probably 1/4 of the funnel level overnight. When I drove it this morning the same thing occurred. Temps started slowly rising about the 1/2 way...

Heat is getting hot as it should. I am going to change coolant temp sensor this evening and try to burp some more. I have been purging the system with the front end raised and using one of the coolant funnels.

Another observation to report is that when I start the Jeep from cold I hear a gurgling sound from the dash area. I dont hear it after the temp warms up or if its a "hot start". I came across this and thought it could be useful to others so here is a good link ...

I have not put a temp gun on it, but it is getting very hot. I can tell that by feeling the upper radiator hose. It's a 2014 Unlimited Sport.

I had replaced my thermostat probably 2 months ago after some overheating issues. It has been fine and then all of a sudden it started overheating again at highway speeds. It was fine when driving at slow city speeds. I have purged all of the air out of the system while the jeep was inclined...

It is a 2014, everything I read online showed it on the drivers side. Even the pictures I saw were the same as what I was on.

Seems to be a common problem, but my Jeep is making the sloshing noise in the dash area and from what I have read it is the A/C drain. I found where it drains out coming from the firewall area on the drivers side. I tried running a straightened metal coat hanger in the drain to unplug it but...

Yes the heat got really hot, not the Jeep itself hahaha. Guess I should have specified that.

Update: I jacked the front end up a little higher and went through the entire process again. Burped the system and got alot of air out. Let it cool down burped it again and got just a little bit of air. Topped it off and let it get up temp, took it down the road and within 5 minutes it was so...

I couldn't find a fuse that had anything to do with the heat other than like blower motors.

So I went home yesterday and tried jacking the front end of the jeep up and burping the system again. I was able to get some air out of the system and then topped it off. Started it up and let it run for 10-15 minutes and no change, Still blowing cold air and the fan had kicked on like it was...
