    J-Scan ECU Config Parameters

This might be a very niche question, but wanted to shoot my shot. In JScan there's 2 parameters under engine module configuration that's titled; ECT Temperature Rationality Disabled ECT Temperature Rationality Status If I change the disabled status from false to true, will that tell the ECU to...

ECT Drops 50° When Lifting Throttle

Burping didn't do anything. In fact..... My P2181 - Cooling System Performance is back along with this reported temp. And just to be obvious, it's not 44 degrees here. 70 air temp and the 90 degrees the coolant started at feels right because I drove it two hours ago. The code sets immediately...

ECT Drops 50° When Lifting Throttle

2008 JKU w/ 3.8 Had a broken ECT sensor. It then wicked coolant into the connector. So I changed the connector and replaced with an OEM ect sensor. Now when I let off the throttle this is what my ECT reports. I know I need to burp it just to make sure I don't have air, but have you guys seen...

    Help de-pin this connector

In case anybody comes back to this in the future. The circled purple part is what's being lifted and the other photo is what hole that is.

    Help de-pin this connector

I had to walk away for fear of breaking it. I wasn't able to break it free.

    Help de-pin this connector

Hmmm, I was in there, though admittedly not vertical. Am I trying to push "up" on the metal connector I can see (that's in line with your top line of the red box)?

    Help de-pin this connector

I'm usually pretty adept at doing these, but I can't get this one figured out. What am I doing wrong? This is the ECT sensor plug by the way. My sensor itself was wicking coolant into the bowl where the pins are. Now it has wicked into the connector and I want to de-pin it and clean it and see...

    Coolant Inside ECT Plug

2008 JKU w/ 3.8L 170k miles As title says, there's coolant where the two pin plug goes. Not leaking out of threads, no other moisture in the area. I developed a P2181 and P0116 but coolant is fine and temp was getting up to 200'ish. I was also backprobing the ECT to verify voltage. But then I...

Can someone go look at their door seals for me?

I ended up buying the OmixAda, which is still rev AU, and here's my floor pan after Beryl rained at our house the last 24 hours. So yeah. I'd agree those seals were bad @Cimmerian 🤣 I don't doubt the new AW is probably better, but I made an assumption that mine were probably original to 2008...

Can someone go look at their door seals for me?

2008 JK. Soaked front carpet. I'm redoing the T-tops foam, but watching the water travel the other day I think I've actually got a door seal issue. With my beautiful paint skills I've tried to show how I think water is ingressing. Should the lip on the corner actually be tighter to the pillar?

    Thud at low speeds?

I'm a doofus. Great idea. Should be able to do that Thursday morning.

    Thud at low speeds?

2008 Rubicon JKU This may be hard to explain, but you can kind of hear it in the YouTube video. At low speeds (like idle to 5 mph low) my tires feel....stiff might be the word? It feels like one of them is a plastic Little Tykes. And when I'm going slow it almost feels crunchy and I can hear...

Life after new ball joints and steering components

So I've definitely been mis-aligned for a while with my JKU, just always had bigger fish to fry. Anyway, so I finally did ball joints. And because I'm high mileage and the fact that everything was already apart I went ahead and bought a new drag link and tie rod. I would hate to have to pay...

    Rubicon Sticker Location

We had the hood painted and I forgot to measure where the hood decals go. Can anyone point me to dimensions or a template? This is for a 2008 JKU Rubicon if it matters.

    Low RPM Vibration Resonance

2008 JKU with a 3.8L and 42RLE. I've read this from a couple different people but either people are terrible at updating their posts or they just never actually fix this. At around 700-900 RPM's I just get a pretty steady vibration throughout the vehicle, just like a low/deep vibe. It's more...

How to program a new key FOB for your Jeep Wrangler JK

I suppose I should have come back and updated also. I bought these, had Ace Hardware cut it, and then used JScan. All factory functionality remains, though the remote start button on the new key is just double click the remote start. I think on the old key I have to lock then double click...

How to program a new key FOB for your Jeep Wrangler JK

Reviving an old thread, but @Chris do you know if, when the key is programmed, the factory remote start functionality programs into the key? @72c10 were you able to personally program a third key since you had two functioning? Some literature out there reads as if you need to have 2 FOB's once...

    What is this part?

Did my radiator tonight. Not the worst job in the world, but I certainly have thoughts for those engineers at FCA. Anyway. 2008 Rubicon with a 3.8. This was actually wedged behind the overflow reservoir next to the electric fan housing. Is this the bottom half of an exhaust manifold heat shield?

    42RLE transmission rebuild or upgrade?

Grain of salt here, but I think of heavy duty converters as things needed for towing applications. My rationale is you said you're adding a couple hundred pounds, right? So basically it's like adding a family in the Jeep with you, yeah? And would you ever think you need to upgrade your torque...

What is the best product to clean / restore fenders?

Funny story, if you use enough of the 303 it will restore. :) Ask me how I know that. I used it on my TJ and it brought my fenders back from the grave. It involved a week straight of 2X daily applications, but it got there. I've got the "before" pic hanging out somewhere if I can find it...
