Is my JK worth anything with a blown transmission?

How low would you be willing to go with bad trans vs how much do you think you could sell with rebuilt trans?

    Soft Top or Not?

I have a Jku with a hardtop, would like to got soft top in summer months but I do quite a bit of freeway driving to get to trails. The freeway speeds in my state (Wy) are 75 and 80 mph. How does a good soft top compare (noisewise) to a hardtop? Is the noise bearable at 75 mph? In wind at 75mph...

Keep us posted, would like to see how this all pans out and that you get the jeep driving properly.

9 months in storage (is there anything I can do differently next time?)

I've used plenty of Sta-bill over the years. I owned a motorcycle shop in wyoming and we also did snowmobiles so we were either storing bikes or sleds. The Sta-bil also claims to work for 24 months as does the Star tron. Main thing is to just follow the instructions, add it and run it before...

Fox Racing 2.0 Reservoir Shocks vs Falcon 3.1 Piggyback

If you upgrade your shocks and still have some used with life, I may be interested. Dont have it in the budget right now and my 2.0s only have about 5k on them. How many miles can I expect from them?

    Can I waterproof my RTT?

I've used scotch guard but it has been many years ago. I think it is still available but there may be something better out there by now. I'd do a search, check the reviews, you know the routine. I think its a good idea and worth doing.

Fox Racing 2.0 Reservoir Shocks vs Falcon 3.1 Piggyback

I've got Fox 2.0 non reservoir shocks and they are ok. Running them with the 2.5 inch terraflex springs. Wish I could test drive some other brands. I feel like they are a little soft offroad. Also not sure at what point the reservoir really make a difference, but unless you are wanting the...

    Welding Barricade roof rack

I agree with you, weld it or sell. I've always done all my own tubing work on other offroad buggies and 4x4's, this rack is a good place to start, but needs full welding for best quality. I hate bolt together stuff. Thank you for the input.

    Welding Barricade roof rack

Any reason I should't weld the barricade roof rack? Tired of listening to the squeeking joints. I'm getting ready to pull it tomorrow to weld and paint. Looking for the following input: 1. Reasons not to weld it. 2. Color to paint it. (body color, blue to match wheels or matte black) 3...

2011 Jeep Wrangler JK with cold start issue

Agreed, I learned a lot from listening to customers when i owned my motorcycle shop. I had to know 40 or fifty different models and most customers owned 1 model. Accordingly, some customers knew more about their 1 model than i did and I wasn't afraid to admit that. That's how you learn and there...

What happens when you upgrade your Jeep's air filter and exhaust system?

I saw a youtube video a while back were a guy actually dynoed his jk, put cold air intake and exhaust on it and then dynoed again. He was happy with his peak 8hp gain. Prob spent $1500 by the time he paid for dyno twice.

Is this used 2010 Jeep Wrangler Sahara a good purchase?

I agree that 6 owners is a red flag, if you decide to buy this, id try to get them to throw in a warranty. I have a couple of friends that sold Later model jeeps that had mystery problems that no one was able to locate. Leaving them along side the road, then it gets to the dealership and...

2011 Jeep Wrangler JK with cold start issue

But of course every service writer rolls his eyes if you say you read something on the internet that could be the problem. Hoping the key really is the problem, I'm just a little skeptical.

High RPMs after gear swap: Is this normal?

A dyno is not what you need, just do the scan app as mentioned prior. Sounds like everything is fine and normal, just a good idea to make sure your speedometer is correct.

    Newest Newb

I'm hoping to get to to a regear this winter but i've got a lot of projects. Other than that, sway bar disconnects and maybe gps/backup cam. We will see when I wear out my 35's (which are brand new) I'd consider going bigger but most of my local trails are pretty easy and really no reason to go...
