Need someone to answer a question

My suggestion would be to drive it and see if the computer resets. Swear that these onboard computers just make life hell in more cases than not.

Typical new owner questions about engine and transmission

OP, it's a Jeep dealer that put 0W-20 in your JK or an independent car lot? Reason I ask is, if Im not mistake, dealers are very strict at sticking to manufacturer recommended fluids.

    Replacing key fob shell

**UPDATE FOLLOW-UP** Just chiming in to report that swapping the guts from my original key and cutting the new one worked. Locksmith charged me $3.25 and that was simply luck. Because two other places charge $30 and another, $25. Here's the link for the shell incase anyone wants to order one...

    Replacing key fob shell

Thank you! I'll search 'how to' online. Its absolutely a good idea to have a third, even fourth key.

    Replacing key fob shell

Didn't think about plastic weld. Good suggestion. But does look ugly. Jscan, I dont have and to be honest, going through that whole process would be a pain in the arse if I can simply transplant the guts. I figured this would work but Im skeptical knowing how sneaky manufacturers can be. But I...

    Replacing key fob shell

One of my Jeep keys ear loops broke. Thats the part that holds the loop that attaches to a key chain or other trinket. I'll post a photo. I'm curious if anyone's ever replaced or transplanted the inner guts into an Amazon key and had that key cut, without having any issues? So the guts you see...

    Identifying front wheel speed sensor

I did not find a sensor, unfortunately. I went ahead and changed my entire wheel bearing hub assembly to a Spicer wheel hub. If God forbid something went wrong with it I could replace it the speed sensor. I will no longer purchase any aftermarket parts that have multiple pieces attached for...

    Engine beauty cover

I ran mine over, like an absent minded shithead. And I refuse to pay $150 dollars for a used one. That's what these animals ask for them, used! 🙄

    Extended warranty

Any Stellantis North America vehicle is a gamble comparable to their counterparts in the far east. I understand wanting a warranty. When I spoke to a Jeep customer rep over the phone they wanted upwards of $2600 to warranty my 13. And that didn't include the $120 fee to come survey my Wrangler...

    Extended warranty

Put aside 200 bucks a month and if you're lucky, you'll be okay when the time comes. Most of those aftermarket warranties are a scam, aka- number game.

2017 Rubicon 2-door has sloppy steering and feels like fishtailing

when I first bought my JKU I stopped at an alignment shop that would always have Jeeps parked outside. When the owner told me, "they're Jeeps on big tires. It's always going to be a little weird on the highway" (paraphrasing) but I KNEW then and there NOT to have him do my alignment. 👍👍 EDIT...

2017 Rubicon 2-door has sloppy steering and feels like fishtailing

You're likely getting adjusted to driving the Jeep. If it's a passive / leisure vehicle and you're really particular about drive feel and confort, maybe that's just it. Especially if you rarely drive it. I will go on record and say I don't agree with the general census that tire pressure makes...

2017 Rubicon 2-door has sloppy steering and feels like fishtailing

So they aligned it again? If so, then it was in fact off, no? And has it improved? A short wheelbase Jeep is sort of squirrely. I remember driving a soft top JK rental years ago and it was a little uneasy to drive upwards of 70 plus miles an hour. But my TJ isn't like that on the highway. Maybe...

2017 Rubicon 2-door has sloppy steering and feels like fishtailing

@Ribeye67 this is the offroad / 4x4 shop telling you the alignment is good? Because the shop mine was at did everything (including changing the rear control arms) to correct my Jeep's 'sway' and it was all up front. The alignment was off too, by 2 degrees (toe out- I think?) and it took an...

2017 Rubicon 2-door has sloppy steering and feels like fishtailing

Alignment first. That almost fixed my 'fishtail' highway ride. But the real fix for me was new ball joints and a brand new drag link. The drag link was visually not really responding to small movements of the steering wheel. It was scary at 65 MPH and above.

2017 Rubicon 2-door has sloppy steering and feels like fishtailing

I read that BS on forums too....."wear in". That makes no sense to me. You replce them, do an alignment and you drive. Unless someone can verify the facts on breaking-in balljoints, that's horse shyt IMO.

2017 Rubicon 2-door has sloppy steering and feels like fishtailing

lose / worn steering component, I say. Had a similar issue w my JKU. A good alignment helped really reduce the fish tail feeling. Mine always felt like the rear was wagging to the left. But was completely remedied after replacing the drag link and ball joints. Before those Components, it was...

    Driver side front brake sticking

I replaced both calipers with OE rebuilds. It was under $175 installed, which to me is cheap and worth not sweating in my driveway or garage for 3 hours. I had the pass side replaced 2 years ago as well but the salt and grime of the NE unfortunately got to that one too. Which here forward, I'll...
