    JLU Soundbar in JKU

Why not upgrade the speakers in your current soundbar? I did this years ago, replaced the stock speakers with a pair of Rockford Fosgate and couldn't be happier.

    Suspension Recommendations

Changing the shocks may alter your lift by a fraction of an inch, but what is your priority? Do you want to drop the JKU so it doesn't look so goofy that high off the 33s, or do you want to achieve a smoother ride? Just my opinion, but going back to a stock suspension height with a new set of...

    Suspension Recommendations

You can always go back to the factory suspension, but I'm sure you don't have the parts when the original swap was done. The Rubicon comes with a different spring than the Sport or Sahara models, I've been told, which gives it a little more lift than either of those. Park a Rubicon next to a...

    Best LED Headlights

The pair I bought several years ago are no longer available on Amazon, but these are the shown replacement and look very similar to mine. The only issue I had with mine was both headlights are identical and the tabs on the rear of the light housing don't line up with the slots on the headlight...

Changed spark plugs & ignition coils, now oil dripping out the bottom

I've seen a lot of variety in torque specs for the upper manifold, anywhere from 7.5 to almost 9ft lbs. Maybe back them all off a little and start the sequence over and get closer to 7.5 - 8ft lbs? And the gaskets are not that expensive. I would have replaced them while I was in there.

I know Chino well. Lived in Upland for a while as a kid. And it got to $99.95 in 1979.

Freedom top seals or leak fix

Most of the best trails are in the western part of the state in the Appalachian range around the Blue Ridge Parkway. But that's a 6 hour drive from me. There are a couple nice ones if you want to earn a badge just 90 minutes from me down in the Uwharrie area. And then there's the outer banks...

Freedom top seals or leak fix

I moved to Guilford County, just south of Greensboro in 1992, met my wife, who lived in Greensboro in 1993. Sold my house and moved in with her. I had already retired for the 1st time and was working on career #2, which allowed me to go just about anywhere. That was important for her job. So we...

Freedom top seals or leak fix

Hey, I was born and raised in and around San Diego. Lived in Encinitas the last 4 years before retiring and moving to NC. Very familiar with Oceanside.

Freedom top seals or leak fix

So, here's what I learned a couple years ago.... 1. I don't tighten the rear sport bar screws much beyond snug. The tighter you make those, the more it pulls the freedom panel down at the sport bar and up across the front of the windshield. The freedom panel isn't going to bend much. I've...

    Soft top downsides?

Oh, I totally get where you're coming from and those years with my 2-door soft top were 30 years ago when I was much younger. Now, close to 70, I just don't feel it anymore. Oh, and I'm right down the road from you and, if you haven't done this- it's a lot of fun: https://obxjeepinvasion.com/...

    Oil Level Check

I always check my oil cold. The dipstick measures the oil level in the pan, and the pan is at its fullest when the oil has found its way back down to the pan. Now, about those Moto Metal 962's.... fair warning. I take the axle caps off myself before I take it in for a tire rotation. Tire shop...

    Soft top downsides?

I guess you could switch to a soft top if riding with the freedom panels off doesn't give you the same sense of riding in a convertible. But, if I'm not mistaken, there's quite a bit more to it than a simple switch from hard to soft top. I believe the soft top framing needs to be attached after...

    2012 3.6 P06DE

Done any wheeling lately that included a relatively steep grade? As you mentioned, the "engine load" does have some effect on the dual stage. Lower RPMs on a downgrade, for example, may cause the PCM to shut off the oil pump solenoid until such time as the RPMs increase, or the ride levels out...

Unofficial word: 3.6 dropping like flies

My 2014 ran like a clock with absolutely zero issues (my post above from almost 3 years ago), except the t-stat. Around 140k, I started getting the lifter tap and took it to a not so local (45 miles away), but highly recommended shop and let them rebuild the entire top end for around $7k. They...

What did you do to your JK today?

New Safelite windshield installed yesterday. It had a nice collection of rock dings and the sand blasting was pretty evident, but the other morning it was cracked from to top to side right in front of my line of vision. Went online to Safelite and set up the appointment, they came to me and had...
