Doesn't sound like a tick, but maybe more of a slight knock. Considering that its amplified via recoded audio, I may be wrong. But it sounds like literally one thing causing that noise. Not a ticking chatter. Wonder if by chance you do have an exhaust leak.

@ OP: Phosphoric acid before paint. That stuff does an amazing job at creating a nice clean slate for paint to adhere to. I'll be applying phosphoric acid to my frame and power washing it in the spring. Then hitting it with Fluid Film (or the like) to keep it rust-free.

Is the top color-match painted white as well? Im really reaching here at this point but the only other logical thing I can "hypothesize" is that the paint has a different additive to bond with the material its painted on, thus possibly allowing it to be compromised easier by the bird turds...

The second two bottom photos look like bird poop that sat and dried on the paint. Or another acidic fluid. Ive got a couple of those on my old TJ and they resemble the shapes. Some of them are still smooth to the touch.

Warmer weather in NJ today. I was following a burial convoy after a wake into a cemetery and noticed my engine temp creeping up just passed the middle mark. That said, Im def adding an aux trans cooler to my 2013. Never-ending mods! FML

I was looking into the different options and saw the one's with a fan, like you mention. Thinking to just keep it front mount, because I really dont want get get up into the $300 range with install. But I'll dig deeper into the fan realm before I pull the trigger on a basic unit.

Thanks, this is informative. Though, I do believe my manual says 60k. I'll double check and confirm. Id DIY it, but breaking off the oil pan brackets or stripping the bolts is a legit concern. Guess no one recommends the additional cooler either.
