9 months in storage (is there anything I can do differently next time?)

My wife and I finally made it to our place in Florida after a long wait hoping to get the COVID vaccine. That meant my '08 Jk was left sitting in the garage for 9 months. I changed the oil, cleaned both the inside and out, topped off the gas tank, hooked to a battery maintainer, and covered...

Heater only makes hot air for a little while

I would also check the coolant level.

Saying hi from the great white north

Nice looking JKU, sounds like you are going to carry on the tradition of Jeep (Just Empty Every Pocket) as you move forward with your mods.😁

Is this used 2010 Jeep Wrangler Sahara a good purchase?

Looking at the carfax it does show it had 6 previous owners. That in itself is not a bad thing, however, you may want to look at the length of ownership to see if it was handed off quickly for the last few owners. The other thing to keep in mind is that being a Sahara pushes the price up...

Should 150k miles deter me from buying this 2011 JK?

Yes, all too true. You are not going to win any races but like most things you adjust. 😉

Should 150k miles deter me from buying this 2011 JK?

You may want to reach into the frame with you fingers to get a better idea of the rust and if there is any crud in there. If its surface rust, it can be cleaned off and the frame repainted. If your referring to the underside of the Jeep's body, that can be repaired within reason meaning it...

Should 150k miles deter me from buying this 2011 JK?

I picked up a 2008 last year with 136500, so far I am very happy with it. If you can have it looked over by a mechanic that would be helpful. Other then that if it looks clean, drives and runs well, and of course the price is right it may be worth buying. There are no guarantees with any used...

Anybody know what this is for?

"This product allows a number of Jeep owners to program their vehicle for backup / rear view camera. Installation is simple and takes only a few minutes. Simply install your backup camera to your factory radio screen then plug this Genie programmer into your vehicle's OBDII port (under your...

    Differential oil weight

So I decided none of the above. We rarely see temps in the upper 90`s and I don't tow anything but a 6' utility trailer and that's short distances and seldom. This eliminates the need for 75w145. However, the temps do get very cold in the winter so I'm going to use Mobil 1 75w-90 full...

    Differential oil weight

I do live in the North East where is does get and currently is cold so I'm thinking I will go with the 75w140 Synthetic oil in both the front and rear differentials.

    Differential oil weight

I am getting ready to Change my front and rear differential oil and looking at what is recommended. I have a Dana 30 in the front and a Dana 44 rear. The chart shows I can use 80w90 in both or 80w90 front, 75w145 rear. I was going to do the latter, however is there any harm using 75w145 in...

2011 Jeep Wrangler JK with cold start issue

Does your JK have an auto trans? If so, you may want to check the fluid level. Some people were having a problem with their jeeps shutting down when put in reverse. It had to do with low trans fluid affecting the torque converter. It is a bit different then what you are experiencing but...
