    Newbie wanting to buy

For being a NJ vehicle, it is not too bad rust wise. Maybe a good set of All Terrains would be better in that environment. Not sure about the price, seems good. Miles are a little high for a 2017 (20k plus a year) but it is probably good for 250k plus according to the good maintenance reports...

    Aftermarket lights and switches

I bet you canfind a panel that sticks out like this one that will give you some room in that spot. I see mine as a wasted spot. Only a few work. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001GH1P3W?tag=wranglerorg-20

    Aftermarket lights and switches

In the year that has passed, voswitch has gained some ground. I like mine. One wire through the firewall and that’s it. I know they show it mounted over the windshield, but it can be mounted anywhere...

    Transfer case leak

Good to hear. Mine has 61k on it. Was never really wheeled until I bought it with 58k on it.

    Transfer case leak

I had the same thought. My usual way is to pop in an atlas II before I’m stuck in a trail. This one I’ve been convinced it’s worth waiting.

No start signal on 07 JKU

My JKU is a hack job in 2009 it had a complete rebuild that included a hemi 5.7 and a new trans.

No start signal on 07 JKU

The trans in my JKU is a 545rfe (most likely🤷‍♂️) I think the sensor is outside. BUT, I did some testing and found/traced the problem to the tipm. I can jump pin 30 to 86 on k3 in the tipm and the starter cranks over the engine. The tipm did not send a signal out of 87 to 86. I purchased a tipm...

No start signal on 07 JKU

Pressure washing is risky. I have had bad luck in the past washing chevys. This would have been a very quick reaction. I have not seen any corrosion or electrolysis on any of the parts or connectors. The TIPM looks fine, nothing but dust. My guess was moisture from pressure washing the area...

No start signal on 07 JKU

Well, the issue is back. Frustrating. I have the TIPM out and have cleaned it good and used contact cleaner on the harness plug in side. I'll put it back in today. I will also look at the neutral safety switch (it has a trans out of a 2009 Dodge ram. The issue (at the moment) seems to arise...

JKU 1.9L TDI swap: Is it possible?

Ok, Rebuilding an engine is a lot less headache than swapping. The rebuild is a one and done, swaps keep on giving, especially non LS or hemi. I bought a 2007 JKU that was hemi swapped in 2009, a very early swap. 16 years later, I am still tracing gremlins. I get that later swaps are better and...

What did you do to your JK today?

Thx! I knew about the 2011 and up recall. My JKU is a 07. It has been wiped out since I bought it.

Anyone installed a vent in a 2-door JK hardtop?

That would be perfect for my earthscorcher.

Anyone installed a vent in a 2-door JK hardtop?

There should be a vent in the tailgate, check it for blockage.

How to Replace the Clockspring on a Jeep Wrangler JK

I tackled the clock spring replacement. It went fairly quick. I did need to use a puller. I found this video a big help with removing the airbag module. His video was clear and he shows the shape of the tool you need. It’s more of a pull than a pry.

What did you do to your JK today?

Attacked the clock spring today. I’m on the downhill side now. I pulled the old clock spring apart, it was puckered at one spot so it popped apart really easy. Found this. What dos that do? I am assuming it’s a shattered ribbon cable.

No start signal on 07 JKU

As an update, I found two issues on the m27 circuit. One was the new compressor has a cheap 12 connector. I fixed it and the variable noise and speed went away. When wiggling the harness, the motor would vary its speed. The second was someone “spliced” into the ignition “on” wire that connects...

No start signal on 07 JKU

Well, I was over zealous. The no start issue reared it's head again. This time on a trail. We went to Calico (ghost town here in so cal) to do Doran and Odessa. The plan was to BBQ at the top of Doran at the Bismark mine and do Odessa back down. About 3/4 way up Doran, It would not start. Scary...
